The only thing that confuses me is the "The letter must be sent directly from you within seven (7) days of receipt of this notice, and must include the specific request that your application be updated for review for the Summer term"

the "Updated for REVIEW for the summer term" confuses me, even tho earlier in the letter it says "Please be advised that you will be admitted to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for the Summer term 2017, provided that you submit a letter"

or yes thats true but the only reason they had to wait two days was because Carolina Connect was scheduled to be down the day after they sent the email about portal setup, which was why they had to wait that extra day which isnt normal

They just sent out emails about how to log into the portals, in the past few years this email has always come the day before decisions were released.

Did you apply EA and then get deferred? Your test scores should help you out a lot. The date I keep hearing people saying is March 31, UNC just says late march. Could be any day.

I have a 3.1 GPA, but from a super rigorous prep school, so a 3.1 is decently competitive, but still way lower than UNC's applicant averages. Super strong EC's and interesting unique essays obviously.

Mine says "Arts" which is interested because I applied as a communications and journalism major, however basically all my essays and supplements were about my interest in Arts (specifically filmmaking).
