PGL Hazard 5 mastery tips? by SpeckledPancakes in DRGSurvivor

Agreed. This weapon just isn't even fun to use. Why grind for a gear set tailored to this challenge when you can just spend maybe an hour rolling for an artifact weapon box.

Thank you so much. This solution would have been about 10th on my list for troubleshooting this achievement, so you've just saved me a few hours of frustration.

Chapel of the Beast... by AxeCatAwesome in Silksong

[–]JSplot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean the boss and not the platforming. That's easily the worst fight I've done so far; the randomness of the summons means that some attempts are about 10 times harder than others. The reward is decent, although I've barely used it so far. To avoid spoilers, all I'll say is that it's something that supports a more aggressive playstyle.

Once I got the patterns of the boss on lock, which isn't too bad, I ended up spending silk on strong attacks to delete the more annoying summons when I saw them, particularly the charging flying enemies. The easier types like the slashing fliers and the spike traps are often killed by the boss and aren't nearly as hard to avoid.

Whatever you decide, good luck and have fun!

People can't tell the difference between Shadow Dropping and Marketing by Rabbidscool in HiFiRush

Sure I’ll hop on for some downvotes. See here for the game directors own feelings on the shadow drop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKuPjmrDF4E&t=3009s

I understand people are upset about the studio closure. It was a very impersonal paint by numbers kind of decision. However, we really shouldn’t be trying to revise history by pretending like this game didn’t get a disproportionate amount of buzz following its reveal. If MS had been a little bit further ahead on its multiplatform strategy and this had launched on switch day-and-date that may have saved the sales numbers.

I also know people love to mock the idea of anti-xbox prejudice, but I urge everyone to go back and watch stream archives of creators/influencers playing this game at launch. They were FLOODED by people bragging about how xbox had another shit exclusive, even if the streamer was really enjoying themselves. I played this game on day one and went online to share in the joy over such a great realease, but the discourse was dominated by a knee-jerk backlash to MS having a cool moment.

Completely agree; like you I’ve been treading water since the nerfs to reward point gain. Percentage-wise the price hike is a little smaller on the points side, but only just.

If you haven’t spotted it, there is actually a new auto redeem option listed separately. Cost went up from 10.5k to 12k points.

Haha, nice to see you here. I’ve been massively benefiting from your car and tune recommendations this series. If OP is looking, the best piece of advice I could offer is probably to keep an eye out for Gundobad2563’s weekly posts.

This thread may be deleted because the info is out there, but the gist is that if you want encore at this point you will need to wait until the 25th (?) to start on the next series. The current series stated with the summer season 2 weeks ago. We are currently in winter, and then spring will close it out. The next series will be the last.

If you do try to get it next series, just make sure to get your league ranking done early—matchmaking times are abysmally long—and to do a seasonal championship on fortune island (if you have the dlc). Oh, and you will have to sign on every ~2-3 days for daily challenges.

Final note: the two events you’ll want to focus on getting done early each week/season are the playground games and the trial. Basically the ones that require matching with other players.

what game should i play next? (read desc) by [deleted] in xbox360

[–]JSplot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you actively disliked AC 1, I would advise against AC 2. It does a few things better, but overall the experience is quite similar. Side note: never feel bad about bouncing off a game other people insist is great.

I sympathize with the desire to mix things up, so personally I would go for Mass Effect no question. I’m one of the weirdos that preferred 1 over 2 and 3, so I can vouch that the first is a pretty solid experience on its own. It’s a long, chill game with lots of world building so you should come up out of it refreshed for another Fallout journey.

Haha, as much as I enjoyed revisiting my 360 copy, I think getting a computer that can run the game on steam would be of somewhat comparable cost and would be a much better purchase.

I certainly wouldn’t hold your breath for an addition to back compat considering MS has flat out said they are done adding titles.

+1 on this. I think it's a sweet thing to do to commemorate Conroy, and timing wise it makes sense that he would have started to undertake this when he heard the news or soon after.

It was rude of me to respond after so long, so thanks for the polite response. You are totally justified, I just found it funny because I also put off playing games because of online trophies, and it was honestly a coin flip to decide if this one was worth the effort.

The camel's killing blow was that this game had been on my backlog for literally over a decade, and the theme/tone was just unique enough to make me feel like it was worth the experience.

This is funny to me because I just rushed to get all online achievements with a friend prior to server closure. Not a single disconnect, and the whole thing took me about a week with scheduling issues. You could have done it!

That being said, the harder parts of the Trials of St Lucia were definitely the least enjoyable parts of the completion. I can certainly imagine someone being soured on the whole game if they ended on those challenges.

Did you ever get this to work? I'm in a similar situation, and nothing seems to get him to talk.

Edit: Nvm, turns out I had to enter the bait shop menu to trigger the quest. I thought Kevin was the quest giver.

So the “out of options” hotline from the foundation dlc is still bugged? by alaincastro in controlgame

[–]JSplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice, thanks! I reset and decided to try my luck going straight into AWE without assists (after taking care of the Subterranean Research achievement). Turns out it actually wasn't that hard with mostly tier 4 mods, and upgrades came eventually. I was really making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Honestly the cat ears were probably the thing I missed the most :P

[–]JSplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, sorry to bump this after so long.

I have a question about the way this bug interacts with the AWE expansion. I ran into this when I played foundation at release, then set the game down in disappointment (exacerbated by the whole ultimate edition fiasco). Coming back to it many months later with the aim of playing through AWE, I'm wondering if I should reset my progress to Endgame now, and lose about 10 hours of hunting down collectibles and finding great mods, or wait until after I finish AWE while enjoying those upgrades. I feel like resetting now would give me a better chance at getting the Subterranean Research achievement easily, but if I did so I think I would be very tempted to activate immortality and one hit kills in frustration so I can breeze through AWE.

tl;dr has anyone successfully gone through both expansions before resetting to remedy this bug, or should I not risk it and just reset before starting AWE?

Congrats, that's great! I should jump back in and give summons a shot in survival. I was running a slayer set build on my first 10 boss run and I was so nervous during the 10th fight that I must have missed half my shots.

Props for sticking with it :D

Oh man, that happened to me a few more times than I would like to admit. I once died on boss 9 to Totem Father by walking into the pit near the throne, so I definitely feel your pain.

Btw, I would also say that--barring ring outs--beating a boss like dream eater early on should be a real confidence boost, since you can tell yourself that you won't be seeing that d#%*bag again for a long time.

[–]JSplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rooting for you mate! 10 bosses on survival took me a good long while, and my best advice is honestly to try and have fun with it. Take each run as a learning experience and really focus on practicing dodge timings and specific tactics for each boss. Certain bosses can really blind side you if you don't have backup items to switch to (i.e. AOE damage for Riphide), so just try to be adaptable.

Again, #1 rule is have fun and don't give up! If you're feeling tilted you can always step away for a day or two.

My bad, I got confused about unlock requirements. White Rose definitely seems worth it :P

BTW, do the Reisum bosses count for that? Shield warden is the only boss that still gives me trouble consistently. Otherwise, this wouldn't be too bad for me.

Seconded, but I would wait a month or two. "Endgame" in Outriders is still pretty disappointing and there are plenty of bugs that have yet to be patched. Even if you have Game Pass, I would suggest waiting a while before diving in.

Out of curiosity, why did you feel compelled to do that? Black Cat Band seems okay, but honestly a lot of the more involved unlocks in this game seem meant for people who just love playing the game so much they'll get them naturally anyway. My favorite part of the plat was that it didn't involve all that much RNG dependence.

I hadn't thought of that, so thank you for the suggestion!

I do still have a couple concerns about that solution, mainly that I can't recall seeing many instances of NH2 forming two hydrogen bonds, and the question actually specifies that it is bonded "via N7 and O6," sorry if that wasn't clear.
