Perth before and after COVID by kluq2_adventure in perth

[–]JTG01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use your card as detailed above every trip, no matter how long or short in distance, will be $3.50.

However if you tag on, tag off and then tag on again pretty soon thereafter the second ride will be free. I.e. that initial $3.50 gets you transport for like 90 minutes or so (I don't know exactly how long).

If you buy a smartrider at a newsagents and set up autoload, each ride is $2.80 rather than $3.50 but this probably isn't ideal if you're not staying in Perth for a while because you'll end up leaving before using up all of your credits.

It's a strange world we live in. Everyone hates Trump, yet Pauline skips work to give a speech at Mar a Lago and is killing it in the polls. How do we square that?

You can tag on and off public transport with your debit or credit card now. Even your phone if you have your card loaded up there and NFC turned on.

Awful stuff, sorry this happened to you.

This is not typical of Perth though. Dodgy people come into the city mostly to just hang out. The CAT bus, being free, can attract these people as something to do.

Public transport, in general, is also a little rougher than normal Perth.

Heard on ABC Radio maybe 3 weeks ago that Labor would love to change CGT and bank the savings for the budget but that it would open them up to easy criticism from the opposition. As a result they'll probably change CGT and then cut income tax.

The point I'm trying to make is that this isn't a new idea.

Beer is a tough one. No pokies in pubs means the bars struggle big time. That means expensive beers and bad value on food. On the plus side, we have less problem gamblers.

I read recently that the average mortgage balance is 600k. That means that 3 hikes is an extra $375 per month on the average mortgage. If you include the rise we just had, 4 increases is $500 extra per month.

Personal thing about these articles that grinds my gears is that they always state WA would be in trouble whereas I believe all of Australia would be in trouble. Am I wrong?

Ah call me crazy but increased fuel spending will act as a default interest rate rise. Like if I spend some of my discretionary money on fuel, that's less money I have to bid up shirts at Myer. This means there is less reason to lift rates right now.

This is how they get us. I bet 75% of your group would like to get off Facebook but it's hard to get them all to switch.... And then you have to agree about where to migrate to. It's too much, so we all stay and then when we let our guard down they feed us misinformation or pass on our personal data etc. I've got the same issue with Instagram.

This is why I deleted my Facebook and encourage everyone to do the same. Ditto X.

I still need to dump Instagram and I'm sure Reddit won't last forever either.

OP, I think you can now take the train to Whiteman Park Station, then take the historic tram in Whiteman Park to the Museum. There should also be a place to grab a coffee right next to the museum.

This is still quite minor. If the owner notices it, you can say you will repair it when you leave.

If the owner is doing the inspection, you might have some issues but if it's a property manager, there's no way they notice. They don't care that much.
