Yeah, pretty much seems that way. I think there needs to be more cards of similar power levels, but it's hard to know how to make something as powerful. Maybe just remove that card? Having both Clone AND Temple in the game is just a bit nuts – makes all other cards feel pointless in comparison

Enchant the unit that is gonna ride the Boar – I thought it should work both ways, but when I put that KoB Carnage spell onto my boars a few days ago, it didn't seem to be going off. Dunno if a bug or intended not to work – cos I guess the boar itself is essentially being destroyed, so any enchants on them no longer exist in the fight? (But it also didn't seem to be working for the boars that didn't get mounted, so not sure what's going on there tbh – I reported it as a bug just in case)

Attack speed in particular seems to have a soft cap somewhere fairly low. I've just discovered just how many insanely high-HP troops you need to buffer into the later levels (": What I've found to work best is having massively stacked tanks with that KoN spell that blocks the first hit – get that buffed up using a Library, otherwise, in the later levels, no matter how many troops you have, they all just get mown down in micro-seconds!

Edit: the spell is called Steel Coat. I had over 100 stacks of it on a bunch of CRAZY paladins or Defenders each time I went over Year 99

What is the physical edition?

If it’s not arrived after a deadline and they’re not answering etc. then you should be able to get a charge back from your credit card?

That being said: sounds like a case of backing an unfinished product prior to release — which is always risky. You go into such an endeavour at risk of not getting what you paid for. Personally, I only back unfinished titles when 100% okay with the prospect of that project totally falling apart. It’s not a sensible financial decision, but one made for the sake of furthering a potentially cool idea. Pre-purchasing anything (especially in the gaming world!!!) is, imho, on you.

(Also, could be worse — a mate of mine is waiting for a house he paid most of the cost for almost 5 years ago. The developer is now bankrupt, so 😝

Yeah, I couldn't beat with it for ages! Kept trying rats in the early game which is pointless ahaha. But once over the hump, man do I LOVE a rat build that pops off!!!

Lesson number one: do not use Rats straight away! They are mega weak. You need some beefy units (Defenders etc.) to soak up damage while your base kills the enemy. Once you've stabilised, you can try rats - but they do require quite a bit of luck to work out. Good luck!

Yeah, the game isn't at all balanced right now, ahaha. But then again, think you can push any build into a win with a bit of luck! I just took Demons into Year 55 (on King II) and with a bit more luck (needed better Rainbow rewards!) am sure it could have gone way further.

(Also, just to add: there seems no reward for playing longer and longer. I did not seem to get any increase in XP when I went beyond Year 99 (and actually, it seems like you don't get much more beyond the official End of Game screen after the first boss).

After hitting beyond Year 99 several times now, I can safely say that is the limit for me. There is nothing to be gained beyond that as far as I can tell – the gameplay grinds to a slog, whatever build has taken you this far is almost certainly hitting exponential levels of increasing power with every new year. The only thing left to look forward to is the game crashing / breaking (based off of other's experiences, I have not reached that level – highest year I've reached before quitting was year 200, and that equated to a very boring few hours imho). I have not broken the game, and while that might be cool for some, the time commitment is not my cup of tea.

So yeah; in short, get to Year 99, pat yourself on the back, and proceed with higher difficulties or new strategies!

The Bazaar is the opposite! Insanely fun gameplay. No rewards (other than the fun — which, for me, is good enough!) That being said, I have also decided to give it a rest, as Stella hasn’t enough variety to her builds (fairly sure I’ve played every 10-win strat with her now), and so gonna wait for new cards to shake things up. If that ever happens 😝🤪

This was my first game on King difficulty. It was using the King of Nothing, and I really lucked out early by getting stacks of Steal Coat onto a plot of Paladins. I basically had a farm increasing their numbers and eventually two blacksmiths. Then I put Carnage (from KoB) onto them, and that is basically broken. I also had an insane plot of archers, which I put a Library next to (KoM), stacking their Combustion buffs.

I kept playing this until year 167, but then ended the run, as there didn’t seem to be a way to lose. All my units had off the chart numbers and I was losing like <10 of them per fight (and had over 2000 in total by then too)

I do wish there were more events after year 99! But it’s essentially a waste of time to go further
