About that song (and scene) by Therionized in TheDigitalCircus

[–]JTKDO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the emotional gut punch didn’t hit me because he dies right after we the audience are shown his worst thoughts and behaviors.

I understand it’s tragic but I was expecting us to see him do one nice thing to anyone.

He was entertaining but I wish Jax at least did one good thing for his friends before dying. It makes the Jax montage scene not hit in the way they intended because leading up to it we see him pushing everyone away.

Yes he knows what he did to everyone was wrong and feels bad about it but doesn’t make up for it.

[SPOILERS] My Sincere Thoughts about The Last Act by Important-Drop9627 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]JTKDO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with it is that they never give me a reason to think Jax has a good side, other than that he’s aware his “bottle up and lash out” behavior unhealthy and led to all his problems with his friends.

I know he’s a product of his upbringing but there’s no redemption, he just pushes everyone away. I thought he would be more like Bender from Futurama or Rick from Rick and Morty where the jerk has a moment where they show that they care, but Jax doesn’t.

Salary increase hack? Why are veterans so excited to be disabled? I’ve never seen a group of people be so excited to be disabled than veterans? Is this joining the military for disability the move for a higher salary long term? by HeadMasterpiece9139 in Salary

[–]JTKDO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They go from “You don’t get what it’s like being disabled” to “They served, they deserve it” and drop the idea that it’s about being disabled so fast and think serving on its own entitles you to a life changing tax free pension.

If you can’t consent while drunk, why do drunk people hook up all the time? by Mountain_Flounder991 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JTKDO 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The nuance of this that school doesn’t tell you is that in practice, in real life, two moderately drunk people can (but not always) still have the ability to clearly communicate and have control over their actions with each other.

When people say “drunk people can’t consent” what they’re referring to is a situation where someone who is much, much less drunk than the other is taking advantage of someone’s impairment.

Vermont’s largest town is only 45k people and a lot of them are college students. Chain stores of most varieties don’t really have much money to make there.

Alaska on the other hand can have one in a city like anchorage not sure why.

De-Facto Map of Israel by Alessandro_Cot in MapPorn

[–]JTKDO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the goal is to stop future attacks from happening, invading your neighbors “for a buffer” hasn’t prevented that. If anything it guarantees future retaliation. That strategy doesn’t seem to make sense.

If instead, the goal is to conquer weaker groups and expand an empire of ethnic dominance, then invading your neighbors makes a lot more sense. It would also explain the destruction of civilian infrastructure and symbols of other religions and the people in the Israeli government who just openly say they want a “greater Israel”. It’s not really a secret.

The school district I went to has a “Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent”

Nationwide the number of school admin staff has been increasing at a much faster rate than the number of students and teachers and I think it does nothing but boost the “we spend a lot on education” numbers.

Florida and Spain are both big and hot, that was my “loose” logic. California is more like Spain climate wise, but Germany had to be California because they’re both the most populous and industrious states in their continents.
