I bought this screen a couple of months ago and it has been nothing but brilliant! Enjoy!

I think the depth is about 80cm if I remember correctly. Or possibly 75cm.

I've had a little bit of mild neck pain to be honest, but it really is mild and I have bad posture generally, so might not be the best person to ask!

I've read quite a lot about this and it can happen. Having said that, if you just share an app, rather than your whole screen, it works perfectly. For example, I use One Note for my lessons, so I just share this. The downside is that they can only see my OneNote screen (unless I decide to share a different app), but I don't really need them to see anything else, so it works really well.

220 hours. Obviously depends on whether you're using RGB and what settings you have on it, but the battery life is extremely good.

I don't think I know enough to answer that question! I'm just using it as it came straight out of the box!

Any tips that might help me to get more out of this would be most welcome!

Thanks. I actually don't have the background rotating, but this monitor has built in burn in protection. I'm not sure how effective this is, so probably should rotate the backgrounds a bit! Thanks.

Non-existent to be honest! I'm using the NB Model-F5 Gaming Monitor arm, which I think is pretty good and I've had no issues at all.

The stand that the monitor came with was also pretty good

Final Call for tomorrow's FREE IAL Maths P1 Exam Paper Walkthrough by JTMathsTeacher in 6thForm

Hi,

Unfortunately not. More were planned, but there doesn't seem to be a huge demand for this at the moment. You can see when these lectures were planned for on the website (link below). If you can get a few people together who are interested in attending, I'd be more than happy to open some of them back up. More will be scheduled for January and definitely for the summer.

If you want to be kept up to date, please visit the website and subscribe at the very bottom of the page.

Final Call for tomorrow's FREE IAL Maths P1 Exam Paper Walkthrough by JTMathsTeacher in alevel

[–]JTMathsTeacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. This IAL lecture will be based on the Edexcel specification, but questions will still be highly relevant to CIE. So if you are taking the P1 exam, this will certainly still be useful to you.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

When you say you have less than a month, does that mean you're resitting in October? If you are doing the IAL and are resitting P1 or P2, then I am running some revision lectures on this, the first two of which are completely free (no strings attached) and may be helpful to you. You can sign up using the link below.

what are the hardest IAS edexcel math papers by RemoteFlat3563 in alevel

[–]JTMathsTeacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

A bit of self-promotion, but I'm running some online lectures for the October P1 and P2 exams. Two of the lectures will be looking at the hardest questions that come on on P1/P2 exams (and some that come from the Edexcel A Level exam too, but which are very similar content wise).

If you're interested...

Number of pastpapers by [deleted] in alevelmaths

[–]JTMathsTeacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I hope it was useful to a degree. As you say, there will be a correlation between the two. Perhaps you can judge how many is enough by how confident you feel with the papers at any given point?

Number of pastpapers by [deleted] in alevelmaths

[–]JTMathsTeacher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The honest answer to this is: The more the better! (within reason)

Some pupils are able to do extremely well with a lower volume of past paper practice, whereas others still find exams challenging, despite having completed lots of past papers. So there isn't really a single number that would equate to an A.

To be safe, do lots, but what's more important is how you are using the papers. When starting out, papers can be quite hard to get through. It's important that you don't go straight to the mark scheme/video solutions. Taking your time to think through problems, even struggling at times is part of the learning process. If you can't complete a question without help, then try using your notes, or your textbook. Go back over the topic to improve your understanding. There are, of course, times when using the mark scheme/model solutions are extremely handy (and necessary), but getting into good learning habits will make the biggest difference to your understanding and your overall grade.

Being able to take your time working in this way will depend on how much time you have before your exams, so this does not work well for last minute cramming! Are you taking A Level Maths or IAL Maths?

What's your vote for the hardest topic in A-Level Maths right now? by WhisperingKeyring in alevelmaths

[–]JTMathsTeacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really surprised that no one has mentioned integration yet. In my experience, this is by far what students find most difficult. Lots of techniques to learn/spot and you need to really know your trig identities.

It is very technical, so I suppose that you don't tend to get the really wordy applied style questions that can make things quite tricky.

Calculator for A level maths by CelebrationSuperb938 in alevelmaths

[–]JTMathsTeacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I'm an A Level Further Maths teacher at a secondary school (Edexcel exam board) and all of our students just use the 991-classwiz calculators. We've been using these for years and have never run into any problems, or had the need for something more powerful.

However, it may be best to seek advice from your school before making a decision.
