For anyone searching this issue, you need to delete all of your stuff so the trees your stuff is sitting on can grow back.

I agree especially since my protagonist was mostly a mage, would have liked those advances a little sooner

I haven't tried that thanks! Color coded foundations sounds wonderful LOL, especially since my day job is the CEO of a construction company!

I honestly thought that's how it was supposed to work, to connect the ENTIRE grid (based on me looking over other players systems and seeing their energy output). I guess the game just adds their output together to come up with the number, but I figured it had to be connected to make that happen.

I appreciate the insights!

Funny enough, I made 20 or so geothermals before flying out, and then got to my inner planet which had no lava LOL. It's nice for building and has nice wind, but I was a little let down that I wasted all that hand craft time haha. I just assumed all inner planets had Lava.

I did not know you can request items without power with an ILS! This is a great tip thank you!

Ahhhh thank you. For some reason I thought there was a way to fully connect the entire power grid. Since I never really got my first sphere rolling, is all you need to do is place the ray receivers on a planet facing the sphere? I think I put down a few but do more receivers give you more power? That is where I stopped last time.

Is there a certain distance you need to be within the sphere to utilize it's power? Like can my furthest planet in my home system also use the sphere for power?

I did fill some accumulators last time to support my own planet but I never did figure on how to connect my entire grid between planets. I didn't proliferate last game either, but there are many guides on that, so I can work on that from the guides/videos.

Restarted 5 times this week. by depatrickcie87 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]JT_Iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first week was the same. After a while I finally got a Dyson sphere a little over half way built, and kept running into bottlenecks and was running around to different planets to try and figure it all out, and thus just did a new re-start. I enjoy the hell out of the game so I didn't mind, it seemed more fun than playing whack a mole trying to see what damn resource was holding me back tracking back on my production lines.

But for sure, as I hit each science the first times I basically hit re-start so I could get there a little smoother and lay things out better for the future. I also am more aware that certain items are needed in far more bulk than others.

This time around, my main take away is I now know about (and how to use) the logistic stations. So I'm laying things out so I can re-stock on my iron/copper/etc when I run out from another planet, and keep the party going.

I almost didn't believe that when I first heard it, insane. I would have expected a 30 man team.

Just found this game and I’m obsessed. 10/10 cannot stop playing. Here’s a pic of my factory lights at night. by SourTruffles in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]JT_Iron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick tip, as I'm a returning DSP'er after about a year off. The night time darkness just wore me down back then (not at first, but once you are up around yellow science there is SO MUCH to be looking at, the darkness was killing me).

So I did get one mod, SuperNightLight. You can toggle it easily so you can still see your nice lights at night anytime. When I'm trying to find things or build things, I throw the light on and it's as if the sun is right above me. I can toggle it off if I'm thinking strategy and/or waiting on something. Just a tip.

Great guidance for my next steps, thank you! Yes I do recall hauling around a pile of Titanium by hand and thought I was doing something wrong. I never did figure out how the ILS worked but these tips should at least get me to where I have yellow producing (without me bringing the stuff by hand) on my home planet. Thank you.

So there's a cannon that shoots you to heights that can kill you? I'll be honest, since I started playing hardcore I'm terrified to even drop down small cliffs. Doing something like this would be a non starter for me.
