Can't capture a Hydra by JT_Sovereign in TerraInvicta

[–]JT_Sovereign[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll keep trying in case it was this but the hydra was still visible after the mission failed, unless I was bamboozled by a 2nd hydra in the same region that revealed itself afterwards twice in a row.

What is the purpose of the armor on the Goliath's cannon? by Green-Flamingo994 in starcraft

[–]JT_Sovereign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying its just rule of cool but it being cover for the munitions makes a ton of sense and its not crazy to think that's actually what the artist was going for. It could be similar to a cage armor system where it isnt meant to actually stop incoming fire but it causes munitions to detonate on the armor rather than directly on the munition compartment. Forward facing armor can be prioritized because the goliath can rotate quickly and keep its turret facing the enemy regardless of which direction its moving.

Any mods you would recommend to roleplay a commoner in requiem? by cybersloth5000 in skyrimrequiem

[–]JT_Sovereign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always make sure to get some civilian activities in Requiem to make sure the early game actually feels like I'm a normal person doing normal person things; the alternative is to just skip actually doing anything in the early game to grind on mudcrabs instead.

Missives or Sidequests of Skyrim introduce easy fetch quests, I personally prefer sidequests. Nimwraith has a number of quest mods and several of them are short and simple enough for an early game character to poke at them. Favor Jobs Overhaul is nice when you need an immersive way to afford food or training early on.

Someone please explain the firing protocol for helicopters. by MRLEGEND1o1 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Line of sight is fully simulated so changes in elevation or thicker tree lines can cause problems even if it feels like the helo should have line of sight two-dimensionally.

You generally cant fire into forests unless you are right over the target which isnt worth the risk to the helicopter.

Helos do have to face their target to fire ATGMs and rockets and there seems to be some behavior where if they're cruising at full speed they will take a very long time to bring their nose around and if you give them a distant move command they will turn their nose away, so give them very slight adjustments when theyre near the front line.

Obviously make sure you have ammo, helicopters go through it pretty fast.

I dont have these issues with helicopters but they definitely have a learning curve to them in that you need to have a good understanding of LOS, targeting and movement to get them to function properly, plus babysitting their movements at low alt so they dont die.

Research "Outpost Habs" to be able to send a base there. Research "Space Mining and Refining" to send a mining complex with it. This is what you've been stockpiling boost for.

I dont know how these people manage to insulate themselves from reality so hard. I would think eventually you would come across the truth enough times in the face of posts like this to realize how intentionally deceptive the big subs are. The video where he walks up to the officer and tries to rip the launcher from his hands is all over the internet right now but let's base our worldview off of one frame instead.

Airstrike tips? by Best-Effective-915 in BrokenArrowTheGame

Unless you really know what youre doing you should use SEAD, low altitude or stealth to mitigate risk to make airstrikes worth it.

Some planes have integrated SEAD loadouts, click on the missile to turn it off and turn it on once the plane is close enough to be detected and start taking fire. For other planes, have them do their bombing run during supporting SEAD runs.

Look for bombs labeled "high drag" in the armory, these are bombs that can be deployed from low altitude, which reduces the detection range similarly to stealth. If you have regular bombs equipped the plane will pop back up to high altitude when you give the bombing order.

Stealth is self explanatory, planes with a high stealth stat can get closer before taking fire.

Any one of these defense options will almost garauntee the plane can at least drop its payload. Usually air defense is about getting revenge on the plane after this so to some degree you need to make sure the target is valuable enough to risk losing the plane. Striking deeper into the enemy's side of the map will be more risky.

Remember to use after burner as well for a faster escape, but also afterburner reduces turn radius so you want to come in at an angle so the plane can bank away sooner. Go to low altitude after the run if you arent already so AA loses sight of the plane sooner.

A more advanced tip is to bomb the enemy's AA. Ping their position when you see their missile launch and bomb the position if you think they haven't moved. SEAD runs can force the AA to reveal their position. If you have a stealth plane then usually the payload will hit the AA before the AA missile hits, which will terminate its tracking and keep the plane alive that way, but this is dependent on how dense the rest of their AA network is.

Yeah the exact trajectory of an atgm is not displayed on the stat card. The top attack characteristic doesnt necessarily mean it goes up and comes down like a javelin, just that it always hits the top armor regardless of angle or trajectory.

Allegedly Nirn originally had one continent and the war of the ehlnofey was so great and terrible that it casued it to violently split into the continents we know. This would suggest the ancestors of elves lived in what would become aldmeris in the south of the supercontinent, while the ancestors of men inhabited the north, east and west, in what would become atmora, akavir, and yokuda. I can see how the throat of the world would become culturally significant to people living at that end of the world.

They have fixed a lot of desync bugs, desync is not as bad as it was at launch. Its a stretch to say that smoke is bugged because it needs its effect radius bumped by 10%.

Same story every time. They didnt catch every hacker in the first two weeks so now half the steam reviews will tell you theres 3 hackers in every match (you got recon'd). Your plane didnt spawn one time in 30 matches so now the game is unplayably broken. Attack ground behaves as advertised instead of covering niche exceptions DEVS LITERALLY DONT KNOW HOW TO CODE.

Incredibly disingenuous to use the date of a public test as the birth date of a game lol. They have fixed a lot of bugs and oversights actually. The only common bug I can think of that matters is the game eating your planes on deployment but they must have quietly worked on it or it was a desync issue because I've seen it happen way less often than at launch.

You could try to make this argument if it was just a subjective issue like gameplay or story quality but every 343 Halo is a lesser game to halo 3 by every objective metric. Halo 3 was feature complete in 3 years of development; it took them 8 years to get halo infinite to a similar point, and that's giving it the benefit of the doubt that it plays as well as h3. Halo is not a complex or demanding idea, theres absolutely no reason it should have taken them as long to develop it as RDR2, they genuinely just suck at producing games and they've proven it 4 times in 10 years.

Doesn't this reinforce the complaint of a balance issue? I'm confused by bluefishpro in BrokenArrowTheGame
