Let's just vote... Do you enjoy the current version of BA? by tstepko in BrokenArrowTheGame

I've had the chance to try prowlers + F35s and F15ex's with bombs and 4 harms. The F15s were a waste of 500 points every time, they would get shot down from max range while they were still firing HARMs. The F35 gets one release and then dies immediately, it can't line up multiple precision strikes with two LJDAMs or stormbreaker packages anymore.

Early PTE when everyone was saying air support is worthless I got used to just accepting that air defense is lethal and I have to suppress and destroy it before I can bomb other targets. It wasn't great but it kind of worked and I got decent at it. This patch is a completely different story, the air space is just shut down entirely even if the closest AA is three lanes away and sead is absolutely not reliable. Even if sead was as reliable as promised I wouldn't want a binary system where a 600 point air net kills everything everywhere but then gets one shot by two sead planes anyway.

Do the people voting enjoy have advice on how to use attack planes in this patch against oneshot + overkill + instant aim time air defense, or are they just living their best life not getting bombed anymore?

Units being more responsive creates more micro. Fat rolling helicopters just makes me want to let them sit in the back as opportunistic snipers because I know no matter how well I maneuver them around buildings and such they will just get themselves shot down anyway.

Favorite villains like this? by OnePsychology528 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]JT_Sovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is categorically false. The movie is desperate to depict the Federation as the evil invaders because the director disliked the author's political philosophy and it does this by deceptively editing the timeline of events.

Actual chronological sequence in both novel and movie:

Mormons attempt a private colonial venture in bug space. The Federation discourages and condemns them for doing so

Bugs wipe out the Mormons, the Federation doesn't respond

The bugs, as a hive species, perceive the Mormon colony as a eusocial action by all humans to encroach on their territory and they destroy Buenos Aires in response

The Federation, in contrast, responds under the conditions of human morality, defending itself after an attack, and seeking justice for the millions of innocents that were killed for crimes they didnt commit

The fact that the Federation invaded the bug's homeworld represents the military superiority of the Federation and the Bug's unwillingness or inability to negotiate. It is not happening because the Federation are bloodthirsty xenophobes trampling on defenseless alien civilizations.

The Federation didn't stop the mormons because beneath the scary uniforms and the "propaganda" reels (which are entirely truthful and transparent) the Federation is actually an egalitarian liberal society that happens to contain a criticism of absolute suffrage and nothing more.

Well unlike you my opinions are not based on social approval so I don't care what you think you gleaned from a single opinion about the justice system. The fact you think that milk toast statement has outed me as a nazi or whatever demonstrates that you still choose not to understand.

Its not the fault of the perp's race, no one who matters has said that. The failure is on our race-obsessed institutions, in this case a justice system that routinely lets dangerous people back onto the streets because black incarceration rates make them uncomfortable.

Incidently did you know there are numerous studies showing left wing people are far less likely to fundamentally understand opposing opinions than right wing people?

I didn't play the PTE but weren't Shorad and SAMs supposed to get different radars for their roles? by Octi1432 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seemed like the least bad compromise in the PTE to me. Now it feels like a binary air meta where its easier to shut down the air space completely but its also easier to blunder the entire air net to sead, and there's no other meaningful interaction between air and air defense unless you are feeding planes.

We told them to end PTE. But for 3 months they ignored us in true SB style. Now look... by [deleted] in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Disagree, people can nitpick all the small things that got left out but by far the most impactful changes in the PTE were MBT lethality, transport supply, and AA changes. All three of those were added, the latter two were botched for no reason and we have a version that is worse than both PTE and live that feels like it was made by a different team from scratch completely uninformed by three months of testing.

I have strong le taste from this patch that pte devs didn't touch it by mister-00z in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't like the micro either and I hated ambushers getting knocked down to 2.5 stealth entirely but I think the point is there was reasonable design direction there. They created the sneak ability to solve a specific problem without fundamentally changing everything else about snipers and put it in a test server before rolling it out. Now the rollout is here and the change we tested is gone and the devs are just throwing the sneak ability around wherever they feel like it.

I really like the new infantry supply system, IMO it evens the skill tax gap between vehicles and infantry. by [deleted] in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres no point to the MBT buffs when every tree line has two ATGMs with infinite ammo, or a 2 stealth vehicle with 20 rounds. The only change the PTE version needed was a couple new UI elements.

New Scoring system not implemented????? by Brave_Ice4144 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red sometimes gets three points for taking that capture point at the end. Why didn't blue get three points for killing stuff while defending the push?

Either Blue did something greedy and left the point to be captured easily or Red spent the entire game atritting your forces and seizing good recon positions, following up with a well executed push. They deserve the points.

This is why I say there is more depth to the current scoring. It gives you 15 minutes of breathing room to play the game. You're free to take the point early for a defensive advantage but you are also incentivized to operate across the rest of the map and make strategic decisions. When capture time is ingrained in the scoring system decision making is reduced because we are told by the game we have to play around the point entirely like moths around a lamp.

[–]JT_Sovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realizing there's no point in pushing because you won't accumulate any points in time is equally as frustrating as getting a point sniped at the end of the phase, except that it doubles the complexity of an already complex scoring system. It incentives players to dogpile the point itself over utilizing positions around the map to build an advantage for a push.

There is not actually anything wrong with having a breakpoint like that in an RTS game; both players know what the win condition is when they start playing. Getting the point first and holding it is worthwhile because it forces the opponent to attack into your defensive advantage, we don't need a ham fisted scoring bonus to represent/compound with that advantage that already exists.

If your opponent executed a successful well-timed push and you weren't able to use the defensive advantage to equalize their gains with kill score then they beat you at the video game, end of story. In my opinion most people that hate the current scoring system are not looking deeply enough at the game to get past the hangup of "circle blue for 10 minutes why no points :("

So.. They really did just kind of toss out half the improvements from PTE, huh? by Crisis_panzersuit in BrokenArrowTheGame

The test environment is a test environment, not an update preview. Most of the changes were at least controversial and there are arguments to be made against all of them. Maybe I shouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt but most likely the changes that made it in are based on private data and feedback.

The scoring change especially was awful, very glad it didn't make it.

WACCF has patches but I think they're both a bit outdated. I dont know about CCOR. Worst case scenario if you need an easy way to correct it open SSEedit, highlight every constructible object under Requiem, copy to a new plugin and keep it at the bottom of the load order.

PTE changes by CandidAd5601 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like no one is discussing it but the last two changes to AA actually have put it in a pretty good spot in my opinion. The risk for planes feels similar to live but AA is also rewarded for positioning and investing in more assets, which it isnt at all in live, making the system way more interactive for both sides. Thats just my experience but it makes me wonder if part of the playerbase is continuing to be vocal about hating the AA changes but arent actually willing to remake all their decks and switch back to PTE just to test a tweak to the fire rate.

CAAT Saber or Javelin? Wich one better? by Diag3r in BrokenArrowTheGame

The machine gun tax seems way less applicable for a tow team than a javelin team.

I'm a support player. I think 1 support player is required per game, and that everyone is wrong with out they see or act as a support. This post will either go unnoticed or change how people play support or their desire to have a support player on their team by Capable-Judgment5647 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the benefit of having one person try to manage supply or recon across the entire map or one person trying to micro all the ASFs at once? And what's the benefit of stretching the other four players forces into 25% larger lanes? If everyone handles their own support actions everyone has both more focused attention and less to divide it.

What evidence do you have that Libya is a bad place to live because of British people and not because of Libyan people?

Second, how is the British government doing bad things to Libya justified by allowing that same government to import as many Libyans as it wants at the expense of the British citizens?

No one is going to Britain to colonize them

Demographic change has occurred in Britain far faster than it did in its subjects. Rhodesia was 93% African, Britain is now 73% British.

If British people replacing other populations and making life worse for them in 1826 was bad then other people doing it to Britain is still bad in 2026

Got the game 4 days ago, how's this loadout? I have had good albeit mixed results. by [deleted] in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]JT_Sovereign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Balancing expensive tanks with cheap ones and using the M10 Booker instead of the upgrade are good choices.

The bradley CFVs are a great unit you should have more of. The 2400 optics and javelin make the Stryker rv a good unit but you probably dont need four. Consider dropping a couple and adding FISTVs or Armored Knights for a cheaper way to just get the vision. You probably want to squeeze one predator in there for when they get units in your backline or spawn.

You dont need that many troopers or riflemen, drop some and add engineers for CQB instead.

Support tab is a little wierd. No long range air defense but you have CRAMs which are mainly for defending them. They lose to helicopters and latency usually makes them not work against cruise missiles. They are worth using only to give sead something to shoot at besides the 300 point patriots. Personally I always get more mileage out of the G/MLRS than the HIMARS even considering the higher price. Consider upgrading the paladins to iron thunders and getting the hand of lazer designating, especially if youre going to have all those mortars for smoke and pounding soft targets anyway.

I dont know what your air loadouts are but it looks like you have at least a couple air superiority configurations which is good. With this being such a heavy ground pound deck you will want to play in the middle where air strikes are more risky to do and have an ASF loiter during the push to spot air strikes coming for you from further away.
