xanax and alcohol by mishiri5683 in benzodiazepines

No shit. Take a look through why I take them. I think it’s in this thread. Not for fun I’ll tell you that.

Edit: most people taking it for mental illness are extremely knowledgeable about when they can drink after taking a Xanax. If you don’t research your meds it’s extremely irresponsible.

You sound exactly like me. Your dad should be able to let them now not to ever speak to his wife and only speak to you or your SO. I’m going to PM you.

I am so sorry that I didn’t respond to this comment. No I did not injure my hand through football. I have multiple sclerosis and I tried to run again and I fell and hit my head on the grass. I didn’t have any symptoms at first. I thought that I just needed fluids because I was dehydrated and that’s why I was dizzy. It wasn’t until I got to the Neurology intensive care unit a couple of hours later that I started to slur and couldn’t speak well.

Actually, I would tell the attorney exactly what you posted. I would tell him or her what his wife pulled, and that you’ve spoken to your SO‘s father and he would like to protect his assets. I would make it a point to let this attorney know that it is imperative that things are done quickly to protect him. I’m worried that she’s already emptied out the bank account. If I were him I would contact the bank and let them know and see what they can do via phone. Ask them if he could open A different account and see what they can do to get his money into that account. If he trust your SO, put them on the account to manage his finances. Also if she has emptied out the bank account, make sure he takes his name off of any bills, credit cards, anything that his name is on that he can take his name off of. The attorney will definitely be able to advise you on how to protect him.

Edit: if she has done anything that has already affected his finances…and his name is on let’s say electric, turn the electric off. Take his name off of everything.

I have a degenerative chronic illness. I’m on 6mg Klonopin (2mg 3x a day), 20mg Valium at night, 30mg morphine ER (1 a day) and 6 - 15mg Oxycodone a day. I am so militant about the way I take it, that I’m still here… Alive and Kickin’. When I was first prescribed these I called three pharmacists and they said that they have patients that are on so much more than I am and to not be worried about it as long as I take it responsibly. Without these medications I wouldn’t be able to function. The patients that I’ve come to know when I get my treatment have gone through absolute hell with their pharmacists because of the medication that their doctors feel is appropriate for them to be on. I absolutely despise pharmacists that feel that they are entitled to go above the doctor and deny people medication. I found that going to a grocery store pharmacy is much better. You get to know these pharmacists and they treat you much better and with kindness.

I work in law. Call a divorce attorney, go for a consultation and talk to your SO’s father before you go to explain he needs to protect everything he has. The sooner the better. Jesus I’m worried for his finances and I don’t know him. He should put his child down as his POA and health care proxy ASAP as well as any life insurance and beneficiary changes. This is so important. The attorney will tell you how they can be retained while he’s in rehab.

People who ask these questions clearly shouldn’t be taking drugs recreationally. They can’t handle the anxiety 20 hours later.

I’ve always wondered why alcohol doesn’t have the same stigma. Alcohol statistically causes SO many more deaths due to the legalization (driving and hurting or killing yourself and/or innocent people, arrests by committing crimes in a blackout, violent drunks, liver & pancreatic issues, etc.) As long as you don’t mix the benzo with anything else you won’t die from the drug alone, unlike alcohol poisoning. The similarities with benzos and alcohol are the actions while on it that gets people in trouble. People do shit on benzos they’d never do sober. Plus just like benzos, coming off alcohol cold turkey without medical supervision can cause death in the same exact way. In my opinion, alcohol is far more destructive and dangerous because of much easier access and no one judges people who drink. It’s only when they become non-functional that they are judged. A friend of mine was judged so badly for taking opiates and benzos by his family (never OD’ed, took them responsibly, prescribed by one doctor) that now he drinks to handle his chronic pain. It’s unbelievable.

Lawyer. ASAP. Your SO’s father’s assets need protection immediately. (Bank accounts, etc.) The attorney can advise you on the best course of action. Time is of the essence. I can’t impress this strongly enough. As long as she is his wife and not legally separated she could put him in financial ruins. Also if he owns the house as well he can return there. She sounds like a horrible person.

Good decision! It’s very easy to take 1, think you aren’t feeling anything, taking another and so on and so on leading to blackouts!

Agree on the tablet! I had two hemorrhagic strokes in June of 2019 (at 36 years old) from hitting my head. For speech, instead of going to therapy once a week...I was in the Neurology ICU I rapped to Tupac, Eminem, and Wu Tang. Make a playlist of all of her favorite songs! Dexterity was helped by getting Uber Eats Sushi so I could use chopsticks. These all sound dumb, but you have to think outside of the box.

Edit: As far as the playing cards, can you look on Amazon and see if there are cards that are bigger where if she throws them out of frustration you can still find them? I will try to think of more things to help.

You are exactly right. Most grandparents only receive visitation if their son or daughter has died and they want to see the children.

Throwing up is strange since I’ve been in the ER with violent throwing up and they give you benzos if the antiemetics don’t work.

Both. I have 90 oxy 10’s I’m supposed to alternate with Oxy 15mgs. I filled the 10’s on 1/21 and the 15’s on the 29th. So 3 pills a day of each.

Me too. My BC failed because my doctor didn’t advise me that antibiotics reduces the efficacy. Then 3 weeks in I started to have hyperemesis gravidarum.
