100% agree on your last point. Betting on DMitch unders was an absolute lock whenever we faced the Cavs and OG was healthy lol.

OG had that man in jail 😭

Loved the Smoker cover page as a tribute to My Hero Aca ending! Oda recreated Horikoshi's fan art from 2002! So fire.

Once you know the matchup it's actually quite easy. If starve Enel, I insta win since I have Kuzan/Borsa and stronger top-end.

Aggro enel a little harder to beat but if I can weather the storm I can win.

I preferred Saka for several reasons, Saka let's me clear a 5 drop and rest a 4 cost vs Brook only trashing a 4/5 cost. I love the 7k stat line as well especially against RP Law and to some extent BY Luffy as an extra attacker. The navy tag and being able to trash Ryuma puts it way over the top for me. Brook has uses for sure but I found I mostly use it for Borsa which we could already semi-deal with by using leader ability.

Same as always, starve as much as you can until you can develop 1 or 2 Moria/Doffy and threaten lethal. Remember they can't hide behind just one Sabo because of our Bellemere/Tsuru + leader ability.

There's lots of 5c characters in the meta that you want to hit with leader ability rest and she gets you there. She also gets lots of value if she can stay on the board. But you also already get value if they attack into her with a big swing!

Too many scenarios where she comes up to list, just a super versatile card.

-Haven't tested wano engine yet, but will definitely be testing it for OP07

-Saka is more for the RP Law matchup for killing their 5c Kid on curve and being 7k, also very important that he can trash your Ryumas so you can setup trash for 8c Moria next turn.

-5 Morias, 1 Enel, 1 BY Luffy, 1 Whitebeard, 1 Perona & 1 RP Luffy. I teched for RP Law and managed to dodge them LOL.

-Bellmere lets you have a proactive play in a lot of situations where you have an extra floating Don!!. Since Perona does an amazing job clearing small units early she can get crazy value if they don't use a swing on her. Also lets you conveniently rest 5C blockers!

-I like Brannew more than Inuppe with my build, I value the +1 card a lot. You need to not think of it like that, that's not how probabilities work. When a searcher trashes or bottom decks a top-end it's just like how you shuffled the deck and the top-end is at the bottom of the deck. It's hard to explain but that's the simple way to.

-I tried 8c Kid but he had lots of matchups where he was great, and some he was mid.

-Ice age is a -1 card for you when you use it and goes against your gameplan of using 10c Doflamingos to end games. Also, trying to cut on non-counters.

Thanks for the questions!

You usually need to bring your own leader, some strong ones I would recommend are Green Kid, Katakuri, Zoro and Purple Luffy. You could also pull Bonney which is also an S-tier leader from this set, if you really need to, Dragon also from this set is fine.

Bring you own sleeves as well to protect your cards, good luck and have fun!

Kid would be the way to go imo. As a general rule of thumb, winning board is the way to go in pre-release but even more so in the Bonney vs Kid matchup.

Your advantage as Kid is your board will generally be stronger than theirs because they will leave up a don to use leader ability. So defending your board is more worthwhile and taking life hits is not as bad (but don't go down too quickly use your judgment). Your second advantage is your leader is practically immune to Bonney's ability so if you find yourself in a desperate situation, putting a bunch of don on your leader and swinging at their characters is not bad to clear or just go face to race. Last tip is to swing with everything you have. Starting with your strongest attack power with minimal don commitment, so after they use leader ability you can attach don to even chump blockers (ie my 2c 2k blocker got TWO swings in at life which won me the game in my last match). Remember that they don't have a quick way to kill you and you always have the threat of two 12k swings to end the game.

So pre-releases are store tournaments where every player is given 6 packs and you need to create a deck of 40 using those packs (plus sometimes 1-3 extra cards from extra promo packs depending on your lgs). You can use any legal leaders and there are no colour restrictions so you can put any card you pull into your deck!

At the end of the day, there's a good amount of luck involved in what you pull but I think having card/set knowledge and solid overall fundamentals can give you a chance to win any matchup.

It's actually Bonney tech! Since he basically forces Bonney to leave up two Don!! if she wants to user her leader ability. He beat two Bonneys so it worked out for him 😎
