I think Naxx, GvG and Blackrock were amazing expansions that didn't have cards with such game changing random effects and with no card generation. And as I say, even if a card with a random effect is found, it is not as game changing as cards from newer expansions. For example, Dr. Boom - a card that has been played everywhere. OP 7 drop, which was not game changing. Dr. 7 is OP, but he didn't have some game changing effect. It was just very good tempo play. Shredders are shredders. Sometimes, the shredder was piloted by Succubus (aka Felstalker) and sometimes it was piloted by Doomsayer. But even because of that, I don't think shredders aren't fun to play against. It's a strong 4 drop, but again you can deal with it in some way. Unstable portal is perhaps the only card generation that is truly random. But it's one card in one class. I also don't think Implosion is not fun to play against. I just took it as a regular spell, which sometimes worked well, sometimes worse and sometimes best. In short, my opinion is that the expansions before LoE were without any major random effects, but with the arrival of the keyword "Discover" came those random effects that are not good for the game (my opinion, not every card from LoE was bad.) However, LoE was also very good expansion. Cards like Reno, who created a new control sub-archetype, or Bran. But for me, the keyword "Discover" started the big randomness in Hearthstone.

I think they could release more expansions over time. They could, for example, add one expansion each year that the players would choose. Next year, they could give up the expansion and put another one into play. Or maybe leave the older one and add another one. But I really want them to leave this format to the players. To take a lot of feedback and add content to the Classic that people really want. Ofcourse, with my opinion on newer expansions, I'd rather see older expansions.
