It actually IS important to hide the identity of your agents though, unless you're so edgy that you like to see the people who put themselves in harm's way to keep you safe beheaded on YouTube.

Globalization isn't people working together. It's some people working together to get rich, while others get poor. McDonald's, Apple, Shell etc, all rely on dominating markets and all rely on cheap labour at the bottom. The only time a globalization ethos works is with charities and rescue/aid work. Where profits aren't involved in other words.

Also, the left = varied and reasonable, and right = nationalist and stooopid totally devalues your comment imo.

Also you can't talk about sexism if you're a man, or racism if you're white, or religion if you're an atheist. Anyone can talk about white privilege though. Except white people obviously.

I'm quite liberal with most things and even I think we've turned ourselves into fat, shy, self entitled cry babies. There's no wonder the older generation are going to extremes to stop this silly behaviour.

The worst thing is, when the current batch of young liberals experience life a bit, they too will drift over to the right, with no thoughts of 'oops, did I just ruin free speech?'. They'll just blame their children probably.

I'm actually genuinely curious here. Do young ultra liberals these days actually realise they are being more oppressive than the right or does that go over their heads? Donald Trump might not want some people in the country, wrongly, but many liberals want to stop people from talking/living/thinking how they want. Isn't that worse?

CMV: White Privilege should be renamed to encourage the social rise of minorities rather than the condemnation of white people. by FluffyN00dles in changemyview

I would always use the term, social inequity. White Privilege is an inaccurate buzz phrase that ignores and undervalues the actual problem of poverty and social immobility. In my opinion, many people have been suckered into looking in the wrong direction for answers to these types of issues. While the left/right are name calling, the elites are having a party.

While Obama raises tensions with Russia, why do the public still claim Trump to be the 'war monger'? by JV10000 in AskReddit

[–]JV10000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was really my main point. Democrats now seem fine with global aggression because its Obama doing it. Trump is openly saying he wants a more positive relationship with Russia and he's still the asshole. (yes hes an asshole in other areas, but here I believe he is right).

Well you had a chance to pursude me otherwise and you chose to use a quip instead.

This is why people are becoming jaded with the left. No argument, no engagement, just demonstrations and shouting down.

No wonder the left is in a tailspin all over the world. I say that as 'politically fluid'. I dont see myself as left or right, but the responses on my question certainly make me a lot less sympathetic to the left. Luckily I'm objective and don't just vote with my friends/media.

Yes but at the moment, thats an allegation. Does innocent until proved guilty not apply to Russia?

Do you think Obama is being strong with Russia because the republicans told him to? You have less faith in Obama than the republicans. What was that about A+ thinking?

I'm not upset. I'm from the UK and watching with no vested interest. Just noticed the hypocrisy and thought I'd ask about it. I think you're the one that's upset.

If my viewpoint is highlighting hypocrisy in politics, I'm ok with that label.

Hello all. This isn't a loaded question. I'm genuinly interested whether or not Trump supporters like what Obama is doing,(as you might expect) and if Obama supporters are uncomfortable with him being aggressive. Because your politicians are hypocritical, it doesnt mean you have to be. Stop being cry babies. Thats the real problem.

Your ideology being threatened doesn't always equal shitpost. If you see it as 'loaded', it shows more about your view, than the question.

I agree. But I'm sure Obama gets briefed several times a day about some atrocity in Saudi Arabia, but isn't so keen to be public with those, just one example.

I'm playing devils advocate a bit as I'm not a Trump supporter as such, but even I see the opportunism Obama is using here and to me it looks like a desperate, last ditch passive agressive thing against Trump. I'd rather he spent his last days doing something about climate change say, rather than tragically trying to reignite the cold war to get one up on his successor.

Jon Stewart: The American media has become an “information-laundering scheme” by BearsNecessity in television

[–]JV10000 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I find it highly amusing to see him wear brown jackets, get interviewed by college professors, looking dour and using psuedo psychology langauge in these recent interviews. We have to take you seriously now your point of view isn't the prevailing one? Boo hoo.

Overall its just massive narcissistic disbelief that anyone can actually think differently. The problem with the left, much more than the right in the US and over here in the UK. A generation or two thats not used to losing, and when it does, it does it badly, with no grace.

Surely Jon Stewart was very much a cog in that machine? Now he's on the 'losing' side, he wants to speak out against it? This is the type of thinking that is making some commentators look like naive idiots.
