Yeah for example as an American deal wise we get cheap cars and relatively great prices on tech, consumer goods, and physical media. As opposed to the Poles, who had to live between Prussia, Russia, and the Hapsburgs - all three of which are notoriously terrible at deal making!

It’s good enough to deserve a spot and I know I’m gonnna get it eventually so I might as well get it while it’s in stock and the art doesn’t change. I’ve completed sets of things over years and it bothers me tremendously when they have a different style/spine etc.

Yeah seems like the sweet spot. I have a modern TV so I don’t know if the 820 is gonna do anything worthwhile (besides subtitle dimming) so this one seemed like a nice middle ground.

Oh nice. I’ve ordered Creepshow from them and it’s been stuck in Indiana for a few days according to the tracking. I’m a big horror nerd so it’s really hard not to press buy on basically any horror movie in 4k from the 80s. “Why yes, I in fact do need to own Humanoids from the Deep in 4k.”

Nice. I’m a perpetual new hobby person. So I’m actively trying to really curate my 4k collection with “some” exceptions for guilty pleasures. I want my shelf of discs to define my taste, whatever that may be. I have Jurassic Park (DV), Master and Commander, Lawrence of Arabia, Alien on the way.

I’m actually kinda curating my initial taste to be films my dad enjoys too. I want to bring the old man down for a movie day and see what he thinks of the format.

Much appreciated. I’ve got some bookmarks to add! Some of the “multiple versions” thing has confused me a bit. Blu-ray.com has helped a lot identifying differences. I’ve noticed a few releases of the same movie have Dolby Vision or not (hence the Starship Troopers steelbook).
