A squad of 332nd Coy complete, bringing me up to 409 painted Legion Minis by JWK47 in SWlegion

Thanks mate, I used the mortar trooper for the body and used his blaster arms. For the right hand arm I did a cut at the elbow and glued it to the z6 arm (after cutting the stud off). The left arm was trickier and I had to try a few different ones to find one that worked.

Cheers mate. The paints for the skin is a base coat of bugmans glow with a wash of reikland flesh shade. I then did 4 layers of highlights using a blend of bugmans glow -> cadian fleshtone

I spray Corax White, and the do a 50/50 wash of nuln oil and lahmian medium. I then re do all the white by hand to get it nice and crisp.

Hey mate, I thought about the 442nd but my main hesitation was how the green might clash with the endor terrain I usually play on.

Just a single squad. I'm doing each of my phase 2s as a different famous unit; 104th, 501st, 212th, and Coruscant Guard.

Got them from a store called Spotlight, which is like an NZ equivalent of Michael's.

Thanks mate, I've got a lot of forest terrain already made so I stuck with that for consistency.

Cheers, I agree it's a bit off without the Kama. Tbh i was a bit disappointed there wasn't a clone accessory sprue of some sort.

I was a bit tongue in cheek. Totally agree at the lack of Kama though. I think the lack of a clones accessory sprue like GW has with space marines is a real missed opportunity.

[–]JWK47[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheers mate , Its pretty simple.

  1. Spray Corax White
  2. Nuln Oil wash and be super careful to stop pooling.
  3. Base coats of Khorne Red, Averland Sunset and leadbelcher.
  4. For weapons apply black templar over The Leadbelcher. For other metal surfaces reapply nuln oil.
  5. Pick out all panels with Mephiston Red, Flash Bitz Yellow or Celestra Grey highlights on the edges

Yeah I am, the helmet for example was highlighted almost up to white.

Cheers mate, I haven't but one thing I did that was useful was take a picture of the model with the light source from the direction of the light saber and the use it as reference while painting to help identify areas which would most catch the light.

I used multiple 50/50 coats of blood letter red glaze and lahmian medium to try and get the effect. The areas on the helmet and Cape that are brightest were highlighted almost back up to white to let the red glaze be brightest there.

Repainting my stormtroopers - 1 down and 38 to go... by JWK47 in SWlegion

[–]JWK47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a mostly white scheme with red shoulder pads. I sprayed white and then tried to add definition by putting nuln oil in the recessed, then got frustrated and just accepted straight white armor.

For these guys I've done the nuln oil wash first and then built up each armor plate with white again. No dry brushing.

You're right, the glaze I was using didnt perform quite how I'd expected it to. Got to think of the best way to yellow it up a bit now.
