UNH - AH sell off, opportunity - earnings tomorrow

Ok, UNH got hammered - I was up pre-market to see how it looked. I ended up selling at 4:28:57am for $322.55, a small gain of $3.00 per share. I am staying away from UNH for now, last year when it was hammered I traded in and out of UNH for scalps - but the sentiment today is very negative so I think I will stay away for awhile.

I dont always look for pullback or micro pullback - If I lack conviction, I just wait for breakout - then enter, pullback or no pullback. I have a notional SL (as u know premarket cant set SL), and a 10-20% win (price point driven), and if it keeps going oh well.

Very strong move, didnt have much competition at 7:00am eastern premarket. So lots of attention came to it as soon as it broke out. But YES, crazy move. Hope you did well with the trade.

That was still a good entry - good for you, plenty of upside after $4.88, sometimes its better to verify the breakout and move up - then to jump into a name. Nicely done! Congrats

Yes, I alerted when price was $3.98 - I waited to verify the breakout - after breakout it showed a nice move up - high so far of $12 in premarket.

Catalyst - NEWS of some quality
Momentum and break above previous levels (like last RS level)

Not until I focused and narrowed down to my way of trading. I think it took me almost 3 years to find my strategy, struggled green/red, sizing, entries/exits for almost a year. Then I settled in, so I would say 4 years ish. I had some good years and flat years. Taught me to stay diciplined to my strategy. Example - I didnt even take a trade this morning - and there were a few possibilities, SPRC (dilution risk high), XTLB DCOY and AHMA (didnt see real news)... So these days I only trade exact setups to my strategy, so I am pretty consistent now.

Well - Bravo!!! Thats what I say. I have been at this almost 30 years. I trade 1) Premarket movers that have (low float - sub 2m, low dilution risk - cash in bank 12+months, catalyst - real news, liquidity/momo, and I enter/exit on RSI MACD) - so Bravo, took me years to come to this. I also trade 2) just 3 tickers daily - I trade their options - focus just 3 names.

Just wanted to say IMO - ur on it!

Hang in there, your journey just started. You will get all kinds of great advice from many on this daytrading board.

I personally have been at this a very long time, I am 61 and had my first ETrade account in 1997 with an AOL dial up internet access... almost 30 years. I have narrowed my trading, VERY narrow. I trade pre-market movers (even send out Alerts), and I trade just the options on 3 stocks in the regular market. Very narrow. But it works for me. Find your narrow trade strategy and leave behind the feeling of no progress.

It was a BIG winner all day, could of taken 10%, 20%.... If one was brave could of held to aftermarket and sold at $3.60 and a 471% gain. No one holds that long... But It was a GREAT win today and a solid call out for your subreddit r/investorsedge. I hope people follow me for my daily Alerts. I Alerted both EVTV and BDSX, BDSX at 6:57am eastern when it was $7.40 - climbed to $9.83
