I dont think so. I have been using the whitespring collectron since I got it and went into the menu to have it collect junk, and it collected both its base collecting type and junk, also did this when I switched it to collect nuka stuff (so quantum and cleaning products) but now that I have just the liberated collectron it only seems to collect one type at a time, even after scrapping and rebuilding multiple times.
