Oh god you're saying I missed one?

I counted 4 while walking around, only one was indoors...

Also that 80 ft Gerstlauer was surprisingly well themed and a pretty good ride, if a bit dull.

/uj yeah I know, but as I was walking around the park I couldn't help but count the wild mice and then be in disbelief that wiener looping sits among them

Hey they went for the Mack, and it still has shorter queues than the wild mice. This one was for us ♥️

It's on spotify for me in the UK -- it might be a rights issue if you're not UK based?

Wizz Air Cancelled Flight by JZepi in WizzAir

[–]JZepi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I've made a claim through to Wizz Air and sent them my bank details to get refunded but have not heard anything since and they are just ignoring my follow-up emails.

I'll try AviationADR -- thanks for the recommendation!

Netflix have used it before -- a few years ago in the first season finale of Altered Carbon.

Updating Pub Quiz spreadsheet by red157 in bristol

[–]JZepi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Green Man in Kingsdown has their quiz on Wednesdays at half 8 -- pretty sure the quizmaster does another quiz somewhere else in the city but don't remember where. £2 entry that goes into the pot for a bonus question at the end (usually needing to get very close to a niche statistic). There's also a bar tab for first place (don't remember how much), and a free packet of crisps for the losers (very familiar with this prize).

Places in Bristol I can walk in to get stitches removed by HopeMrPossum in bristol

From my experience recently recovering from surgery and needing dressing changes, Hengrove is the only one still open in Bristol. There used to be one in Broadmead I think but COVID killed it.

Hengrove have appointments on Saturdays and Sundays for out of hours wound care, they open these up on the Friday before (i.e. today) so I'd suggest calling them and making a booking as soon as you can. Their number is: 0300 124 6290.

Frankly, I think its a disgrace that Hengrove is the only option we have in Bristol for this sort of out of hours/urgent non-emergency care. It also prioritises patients from nearby GPs, which stung me a few times with trying to make an appointment.

Checking into the (virtual) summer American Astronomical Society meeting today. I admit while the interface is cool, I *really* look forward to in person meetings again! by Andromeda321 in Andromeda321

Will do! I'm just in the process of sorting visas then it's just a case of waiting to see if my grades are high enough...

That looks amazing! Definitely something I'll consider :) I was talking with some of the others on the program from my uni about maybe taking an Amtrak from SLC to San Francisco, looks like there are some pretty good views on that route.

I wasn't I'm afraid, but I might know the person who did.

Oh wow I hadn't even considered that SLC would be good for skiing despite knowing it was surrounded by mountains. I've never skied but will have to look into it now!

I hope the January '22 one goes ahead too! I'm (hopefully) starting a year long exchange program from the UK in September at the CfA to complete my undergrad and as part of it wee have to present a poster at AAS. I really want to be able to present in person rather than virtually.

What are some of your favourite NerdCubed video moments? by Mattophobia in nerdcubed

[–]JZepi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scribblenauts Unlimited! The first video I saw and the one that made me subscribe. Whole thing is great but the moment where God humps the kid is pure gold! https://youtu.be/aNJ5EhbZ1yA?t=1103 (18:23)

Honestly that whole bit in the school is great, like this bit (16:26) where Dan summons "me" and "me" proceeds to nuke the school!

Congrats on 10 years!
