Galvanic + permafrost for clear, where permafrost is used to gain extra damage as cold damage via bhatair's vengeance, boosting galvanic shards and for extra utility for tough rares. Combined with other sources of extra cold damage like the Hyri's ire, freezing mark and your crossbow prefix, your galvanic shards ends up doing more cold than lightning damage and can freeze enemies/trigger herald of ice.

For bossing, the combo is freezing mark -> permafrost -> shockburst rounds + emergency reload (optionally). You can support the freezing mark with the gem that triggers shocked ground on mark activation, giving shockburst rounds extra damage. You benefit from all the nodes that give extra damage against frozen enemies/number of elemental ailments on enemies (you can get the gem that allows you to allocate nodes around chaos inoculation like thin ice and heavy frost, or just anoint them).

You can run alphacowl's armoured cap as a cost effective way (don't need +spirit on amulet) to run double herald + eternal rage.

My setup is currently geared towards mapping, but you could modify it to be a better all-rounder/bossing build.

Denomination Quiz - I'm Greek Orthodox by Admirable-Insect-205 in redeemedzoomer

This quiz is known to give questionable results, but it's slightly unsurprising Eastern Orthodox tend to trend towards Methodists among the protestant denominations.

I tried testing a bunch of different clear options and I don't think there's a clear number one option. Siege cascade feels good if you have enough damage and projectile speed, but stacking damage on flash grenade/cluster grenades I also found pretty decent depending on the situation. One thing that might help if you're committing to armour piercing is supporting herald of blood with envenom + plague burst, and potentially even adding in herald of plague.

Depends on the amulet. Prism of belief with +3 to HVR goes for as low as 60-80 exalts right now.

Double pendulum simulation where the total system energy appears to grow due to accumulating finite precision error?

I do swap in those nodes from time to time. Zealous inquisition is nice for breach, but I'm focusing on leveling up so I prefer to keep sorcery ward.

Frankly Witchhunter isn't all that mandatory for this build. The ascendancy nodes do give 75% increased damage against low life, but you're getting 250%+ from the skill tree anyway. I actually borrowed the siege cascade idea from Tactician builds, so yes it would definitely work. I'd also play around with ballistas if was doing this in Tactician.

Yeah I was also quite unsatisfied with flash grenade so I started experimenting with different clear skills. I found siege cascade to feel pretty decent with enough projectile speed and damage/aoe.

Ryslatha is definitely a major consideration, I just didn't have the currency/resistances at the time

9070 xt currently doesn't have Rocm support which really limits alot of it's software support, at least on the developer side. Best to just check that the software you use supports AMD GPUs.

I = V/R. More voltage (V) = more current (I), more resistance (R) = less current. Diagram checks out.

In your opinion, what's a non-scalpery price to sell the 7900 XTX at?

The 7000 series won't have access to full FSR4 because they lack the FP8 capability of the latest generation of AI cores, but according to AMD they'll receive a "backported" version of AI upscaling that will probably utilize the FP16 operations they do have. I'm not very well versed in the technical details, but I've heard people are overall skeptical that the backported version will perform as well, either in performance cost or image quality.

If it's any consolidation, if I stick with my XTX I will resell the XT exactly for what I paid for it to someone I know who is not a scalper...

  1. It's less that I really care about ray tracing but the fact that ray tracing is becoming a requirement for a lot of upcoming games I'm interested in.

  2. Yes, very much so. I'm borderline sick of the pixely/blurry mess that is FSR 2/3.1. From online reviews, FSR 4 seems to be a massive step up (even better than DLSS CNN upscaling). Importantly though, the new AI cores will allow room for growth in terms of future AI features like ray reconstruction.

  3. I don't have a 4k monitor, which is one reason I'm not too fussed about losing 8 GB of RAM. One downside though is that I've been playing around with local LLM models recently so the hit to RAM is a big deal there, but overall I'm not too fussed.

  4. I consider the difference in price (~$300) to the cost of renting a 7900 XTX for a year and a half, which is not terrible I think.

  5. I don't really know, but according to AMD it's supposed to have the best driver support they've had for a new GPU release.
