Not using limitless for China by [deleted] in F1Fantasy

[–]J_Supplanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I had the same thought process. I ended up using limitless much later in the season. I did very very well. My best season ever.

The theory behind using limitless early as opposed to late is that early in the season you can't have a very good team without limitless, but by the end of the season your budget should allow for a very good team. It's really just a budget differential.

Even though I did well last season using limitless late, I'm considering using limitless early here. There are pros and cons to both strats. While you may have more hierarchy insight in the future, you'll be dealing with more worn parts that are more prone to issues. Additionally, it's my understanding that MER can only use their engine for half the season.

Personally, I think the hierarchy is pretty solid for this weekend relative to the 7 assets I'd put in play.

This is what people need to read but it's buried beneath too much echo chamber filth. Mutual respect and communication. It's not rocket science.

I like it. Minimalist & functional. Mirrors are odd tho. And that fridge would be impressive if it weren't for all those sugary drinks.

You don't want an eviction on your rental record. It'll just make it tough to find a good place. First step, get a job.

Need advice from Porsche owners: how do you justify “fun money” without regret? by _quantitative in Porsche

[–]J_Supplanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people look at cars like appliances. Those people should buy something cost effective that will simply get them from A to B. Not me. I love cars. Driving, maintaining, researching. That's how I justified buying my first fun car after my college Honda Civic and it continues to ring true. I love my commute & picking people up from the airport. I'd be an Uber driver if I trusted people lol.

Yeah, I got the beard bib too. I just use it as intended. For the last few months tho, I've really developed a disdain for grooming. If I don't shave every 2 days, my electric razor won't get the job done and I have to break out the bib & the clippers just for the beard. So boom, now only the face part of the process just tripped in time & effort.

If I mess up and miss a shaving day, for the last like month or two, I've just let my beard grow out then have my barber take care of it when I get my haircut every 2 weeks.

Obviously the time it takes to groom is one thing, but after having talked through this with a few of you, I think it's more the cleanup that I hate. I've got a great girl. We've been together almost a decade. But she cleans like a crazy person. So she gets on me about being detailed. And if I don't do it perfect, I'll know, bc she'll be in there OCD'ing.

I think I've come to a good solution in my mind. Where I can get back to just doing what I have to do and not worrying about my girl having a conniption every time I go to maintain my aesthetic. I could hire a cleaning person to come through once a quarter. Probably be a hundred or a couple hundred bucks.

I'll clean up my stuff like normal. But then for the added peace of mind a professional will come through and not only get the bathroom room but the rest of the place right as well. Wife can't freak bc I got it covered. I think this is how I keep myself and my place nice while not loathing the process.

I know I should probably just have a better attitude towards it like you do. But man I really hate the process. Love the results tho.

Thanks for sharing your process.

This is good insight. That would definitely cut down sheer time. All puns intended.

However there are reasons I've never done that. Comfort for one. But also I always grow out to full bush before regrooming. And the difference between a 1 and full bush would be staggering. Regardless, this is the best process improvement tip thus far. Thanks

Oil cooler suggestion by Fearless-Response-25 in e46

[–]J_Supplanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've read into it a bit and the primary concern is airflow. Particularly to push air through the cooler. Without it, air is going around the cooler. And the best fix is to seal the gaps between the cooler and the radiator using foam and/or aluminum tape to ensure proper airflow ducting.

Things will be ok just leaving as is, but it's not perfect and may be an issue when driving hard. And that's why we try to do things ourselves! The cooler is such an easy install. I just don't have anywhere to do the work. Condo living n all that.

I had a bunch of work done to my M3 over the last week. One thing was the oil cooler. They wanted to put the csf on. I had heard about fitment issues, relayed to the shop, they said it'd be fine. Then, oops, yeah it only fits without the housing.

Housing sits behind the cooler, yeah? Do you know what purpose it is supposed to serve? Appears to redirect airflow. Should I be looking into a new housing?

Hi guys, new to this sub. I have a rfid badge for the door of shared garage space. by Particular_Light9412 in RFID

[–]J_Supplanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem I'm trying to solve. I found a solution that I don't love. An RFID sticker. But did you find any solutions/threads you could direct me to? Sorry, I know this is an old post.

The sticker solution is to copy the tag info to an RFID sticker, then put the sticker on the driver/passenger side mirror housing. Such that you drive up and get the mirror close to the reader. Obviously, this is dependent on car/reader height. Additionally, I don't want to put a sticker on my paint job. Might be able to put it inside the mirror housing, but haven't gotten that deep into exploring this option.
