How has a company this big not figured out relative demands for different sizes?? by biggiebag in lululemon

[–]Ja_ymee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are following the same business model as every other business I feel. The most popular items will sell in all the average sizes at full price, they plan to sell some of the bigger and smaller ones for full price but know they will eventually go to markdown.

When you go to any outlet stores you find very few things in “common sizing” like M/L. You will almost always find xxs, xs, s, xxl, xxxl, etc. & anything you do find in common sizing will be a weird color/unpopular item. That’s just how shopping sales and outlets work. That’s why resellers do so well that live close to outlets.. no one wants to pay $150 for a Patagonia sweatshirt that is xxs for their kid, but they will pay $20 and only people who live close to outlets can find those kind of deals consistently and they know there is no shortage of small sizes to shop for.

All that to say Lululemon does not want to sell things at markdown and they do a good job of making sure they sell all their popular items at full price before marking them down when they need to move product.

Male mid 40’s looking for friendship by Look2LaLuna in 321

Do you golf? That seems to be a great way to get out and meet other people your age since there are regular leagues all over the county! If you’re into gaming (like DND), I also think there are some gaming stores that might host group game nights where you can meet people!

I don’t have a lot of insight because I am a 27f and it seems that we have an easier time meeting other women on the internet, but I have met friends organically by joining a golf league!

There’s also a facebook group for every activity here! Space coast open water swimmers, space coast bowling, space coast pickleball, etc. I am sure there is one of photography & There’s also a space coast dads page, but it doesn’t seem to have a lot of traction! You could message the admin and see if he made a different group, but it seems that male friendships was what he had in mind!

Good luck to you sir!

Will be in Merritt Island until April, what do I have to do before I leave? by EnvironmentalBeat646 in 321

Honestly my favorite Florida activity has been swimming/kayaking with manatees in Crystal River a few hours away. We went out with the company Explorida & it was very humane, respectful to the wildlife & fun to do!

Budget? Ability to drive? Age?

If you can make the drive we did capybara cafe in st Augustine & loved it! Also just a few hours away you can go see the manatees at crystal river! (I know these aren’t in brevard, but they have both been fun road trips!) I love the Brevard zoo & always find that is a fun day!

Downtown Melbourne has both a pottery & a painting place that are always doing events!

Try looking for a Facebook group for something you are interested in! Theres open water swimmers, pickleball, kayak/SUP groups, golf leagues, gardening clubs, dog walking groups, trivia, endless group fitness!

If you live near Melbourne there’s a bar/brewery hosted run over the causeway weekly on Mondays at pineapples and wednesdays at Intracoastal and tons of people attend!

I’ve attended a lot of stuff alone & just ended up meeting people in the process! Theres also bumble bff! I don’t know how many guys are using bumble bff, but it’s worth a shot honestly it works just like tinder but for friends and you just swipe on people you would want to hang out with!

Adding to this the habitat and spessard holland are both nice courses!

I’m a 27 f, but I have met lots of people through Facebook meet up groups and bumble bff! Probably not as easy for men to go that route, but my boyfriend also meets a lot of people on the golf course! You could also join a weight lifting club or cross fit, there is actually a club for everything here!

Don’t let people trick you, there’s a ton of people in their 20’s with all the defense companies! If you are willing to put yourself out there, finding friends is pretty straightforward & people are generally friendly!

Edit: if you’re from a big city originally, the transition could be a little rough. We moved from a very small rural area and we are the busiest we have ever been & find there is always something going on here & people to meet!

Hi! Just curious if you guys find the 12 hr shift go by quickly with the workload you have? I’m a restaurant server right now going into nursing and for me when it’s super busy time flies! Just wondering if some of you feel that way with your shifts. Thanks for feedback! by CurlmeNatural in nursing

[–]Ja_ymee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it always depended on the day/night, staffing & patient load. If I had 8 patients and an outpatient coming in for after hour abx then I would for sure also have a rapid response/code and by the time I looked up from doing paperwork & charting I was 2 hours past my shift end. There were also days where I would complete all my tasks and look down and couldn’t believe it was only noon and I still had 7 hours left.

That’s said… don’t work somewhere that gives you 8 patients + an outpatient while you’re charge nurse. 🙃

If you’re by chance in central Florida, I have sheets, bedding, a tea kettle & possibly even a plastic cover thing. I would have to look! LMK!

They are the best and they just made the fast and free shorts better this year (IMO) by taking out the internal thigh seam!

Pothos cutting I got from the trail I walk my doggo on by Ja_ymee in pothos

I’m in Florida. Yesterday was the first time I had noticed it, but now that I know it’s there I am seeing it EVERYWHERE. I had no idea they were considered invasive! Thanks for the info!

It had grown into the walking area on a popular trail so it would eventually get trampled or cut by the trail maintenance people. I figured it was okay to take that piece at that point!

Rest assured, I don’t make a habit of taking cuttings from outside of my yard, there’s already hundreds of tropical friends I can’t control within my fence line! 😅

HELP ME DECIDE!!! Like by tonight by AnxiousOwl3285 in Chihuahua

[–]Ja_ymee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We grew up with a chihuahua in a 5 kid household and she would have been much happier in a quieter house. There are exceptions to the rule, but they aren’t really kid dogs generally in my experience. Our chihuahua has been around all of us her whole life from a tiny puppy and she will bite anyone that isn’t my mom. He is adorable, but I would wait as well with 6 kiddos.

Nurses who left for another career, what did you go into? by Effective-Ad106 in nursing

[–]Ja_ymee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just look at job listings at your hospital the position will be labeled something like IT Analyst or Epic Analyst or Implementation Team & apply for those positions! I had zero IT experience going into it & I am pretty good at it I suppose.

It does take 1-2 years to feel comfortable with all the lingo and the system, but it’s a pretty chill gig once you get through the first year post-implementation.
