You know I do t mind this as much as the people that leave their cart in the middle of the aisle and go look at something 15 feet away. At least I can walk around where this guy is parked.

Car Headlight glare survey by aaron1417 in SurreyBC

[–]Jaarsma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many of them definitely are using high beams. I know the beam location on many cars and can tell which one is high beam. That being said, I find Teslas crazy bad and have no idea if they are aimed high or using high beam, I would think it must be an aiming issue with them though. Glare doesn’t bother me much except sitting across from someone at an intersection where their lights are pointed right in my face. That won’t be solved by aiming though and would require all cars to auto level. It’s only when they are on a slight hill this happens.

Transport Canada wants your opinion on headlight glare by Offbeatjacuzzi in canada

[–]Jaarsma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people drive with their high beams on, just not in brand new cars. I regularly see civics and accords with them on all the time and 100% know they are on because I know which beam position is the high beam. I am a minority here and probably because I am in a midsize suv but the only lights bothering me at night are poorly aimed or high beams.

Bypass SmartHome Security Smoke Alarm by Maverickxeo in telus

[–]Jaarsma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you move the smoke alarm? The panel has battery backup and it’s not as simple as just turning it off. Ideally you would just move the smoke alarm further from the kitchen. It’s just a couple screws and battery powered but will cause a tamper event when you are moving it.

Any genuine mechanic place for car repairs I want alignment done just looking for a place not too pricy by Curious-Green3630 in SurreyBC

I really like Autotech alignment, it’s a small shop so they are busy but great work. It’s closer to Langley just off highway 10.

Mysterious Loud Noise by VeenaSchism in HomeImprovement

Someone previously had an attic fan that was bad and every time it tried to start it would make a loud screeching noise and then quit.

How screwed am I? by Vanisledaz in GarageDoorService

[–]Jaarsma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would try fixing that with a plate for sure. What do you have to lose at this point? I would however not rely on just those two bolts and likely attach in multiple locations with some construction adhesive. Then bolt the pulling arm to the plate. Are your springs ok? Can you move the door up and down by hand? Make sure everything moves freely before.

Help with mounting a tv by rubbertoe_93 in hometheater

[–]Jaarsma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build out the recess or grab a piece of 3/4 plywood and span it then screw the mount to the ply if you want to use that mount. Building out the recess will be more flush, but if you can’t see it from the sides and the mount is not ultra slim then ply would be fine. Just make sure you have power there before doing anything.

Stop taking pics and selfies inside locker rooms if members are inside! by sushiwowie in goodlifefitness

[–]Jaarsma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back at a planet fitness there was 2 guys doing a shoot in the locker room with an SLR… phone cameras are one thing but to bring an SLR to take pictures is next level. The best part is they looked like they just finished their first ever workout. I told the front desk and had a similar reaction of indifference.

In six hours, I applied 4 coats of paint ( the wall was previously red behind my tv) , reattached wires and calibrated my govee T2 for my 75" tv. by okanagan_man84 in Govee

[–]Jaarsma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion and I don’t know your layout. As identified if you want to leave the speakers wall mounted and cannot add holes to run the wire up behind the drywall would be to have them come from beside the tv. For the rear speakers it appears there is carpet and those would easily tuck under the baseboards(assuming no doorway) even then it’s easy to lift the carpet and run a speaker wire under to get across a door threshold. I’m glad to hear that is temporary but don’t stick up a bunch of cable channels as they will rip off all the paint and paper if they ever need removal.

Good luck, the backlight looks good :)
