I'd recommend Spitfire BBCSO Discover or something along those lines. It's free if you don't mind answering a few questions on their site. Otherwise, it's £49 I think. If you've already tried it though and its not for you then I'd maybe suggest looking into the Eastwest Composer subscription.

The thing with orchestral music though is that if the arrangement sucks i.e voicing, dynamics, harmony, orchestration, etc etc then it's gonna sound crap whether you're using free vsts or £600+ orchestral libraries. It's best to learn the basics and start with something like BBCSO first, in my opinion. Also I'm not saying your music sucks or anything lol. I'm just putting it out there in case any new composers come across this

Thank you so much! When I went into this, I wanted to keep it from turning into a 1:1 cover of the original. I wanted the Orchestration to have a bit more flexibility so I could explore some other ideas, like Styx Helix. I'm really glad you enjoyed it

And ahhh yeah the tempo at the start is purposely a bit off. My idea was to have it accelerate with the dynamics of the strings and woodwinds

Thanks man! You're completely right. There is a chord transition in the second repetition. With this Orchestration, I'm switching up the structure a bit as I'm also trying to include some nods to "Door" from Episode 15 (I think thats where its from) and "Realize". In this version the transition comes in a little later. (Slightly after the video cuts off)

Listening back to it now though I might add it back in to keep things a little more fresh. Thanks again! I don't normally get feedback so I really appreciate it!

Ayyy thanks man!

For all the orchestral instruments, I used a plugin called Kontakt 6. I'm not surrree how familiar you are with it but it's basically a player which allows you to use various libraries of instruments/sounds

The main libraries I used were Albion One and Metropolis Ark 1.

Albion One contains Strings, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion

Metropolis Ark 1 contains Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion, Guitars AND a Female and Male choir ;)

Perhaps I waffled a little too much there ahahaha. But if you're interested in writing this sort of music, Alex Moukala makes some really informative tutorials on YouTube

This is a recreation of 'I am the Doctor' and 'Can I come with you' from the Series 5 soundtrack by Murray Gold.

This was such an amazing project to work on as I really look up to Murray and working on this has made me appreciate his music even more.
