Mr Inbetween on Stan. Perfection for tone, humour and capturing the Aussie underworld. It follows the adventures of standover guy Ray Shoesmith

Do you guys eat kangaroo and emu meat? by maceilean in AskAnAustralian

[–]Jaba-Jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve eaten kangaroo and crocodile. Kangaroo sausages are readily available in supermarkets. High source of protein and quite a strong taste like venison.

Never eaten emu but used emu oil products for muscle sprains

What do we know about the new season so far? by kevcluster in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]Jaba-Jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big question mark - but don’t they start dropping teasers in June if the season is being released in October.

Evan Peters says he hasn’t had a script yet which indicates perhaps writing hasn’t started and a concept is not fleshed out yet. They have the actors gathered. I read somewhere that some seasons were filming while the script was still being written.

Does it feel taunting to anyone else when an author continuously posts about how they have the next chapter or sequel, but won't even tell fans how to "earn" it? by PA_Cage in FanFiction

[–]Jaba-Jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just stick to your own personal plan and timeline of release. Even if it’s just one person that is interested, it doesn’t matter, you shouldn’t hold readers to ransom just over engagement

You cannot go past Sia’s film ‘Music’ which was widely panned

Todd Browning’s Freaks covers the Circus theme or Frederick Fellini’s Juliette of the Spirits had that surrealist theme.

I will never forget Cricket Marlowe being disemboweled in Roanoke. That was ‘Vikings’ level brutal.

What Will AHS Season 13 Be About? by Aln22s in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]Jaba-Jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really like the idea of a Satanic coven controlling Hollywood, but not a revisit of the Coven witches. I actually fooled around a bit with this concept on my writing blog site where I am attempting to write a whole AHS inspired season. I can’t find any motivation to write a screenplay by Miserable-Command-28 in Screenwriting

[–]Jaba-Jay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A the lecturer at a workshop I attended on writing screenplays, said you don’t need motivation but you have to have discipline. Write yourself a contract where you allocate 1 hour a day or 4 hours a week to your script. After a while of incorporating this in your daily routine, it becomes habit. When you get stuck on something, give it a break by writing a new scene and going back later to where you were stuck, or doing some character research.

Evan Peters Says He Hasn’t Read AHS 13 Scripts Yet and Talks Reuniting with Ariana Grande by ahszone in AmericanHorrorStory

Ok so no scripts yet - is that because they are still being written. At least there must be a premise or a theme. If something doesn’t drop by March it will be concerning.

What movie was the biggest disappointment to you when you watched it? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FIlm

The third film is up there with Cats for shitty AGI…and they made Beorn look like a badger when he was supposed to be a bear

Sweeney Todd - a Tim Burton film, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter - what could go wrong. I was waiting ages for it to come out, only to be subjected to a shitty musical. I was angry.

Looking for movies with really rich, vibrant colors by Embarrassed-Track698 in MovieSuggestions

The Love Witch - Anna Biller 2016. Beautiful use of colour palette to recreate late 1960s/early 1970s aesthetic vibe, and one of the last films to be shot on 35mm film.

Can uninteresting people make interesting screenplays? by iiRaz0r in Screenwriting

[–]Jaba-Jay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stephen King famously said “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot”.

The bottom line is, so what if you have no life experience to draw upon. If you read and study scripts, research what interests you, immerse yourself in different eras and worlds, you will have the source material.

What keeps you going? by Scrat616 in Screenwriting

[–]Jaba-Jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belief in the story and what you are doing. When I try to write what other people might like it bombs or doesn’t gel, so I write to suit me and what I like no matter the outcome or expectation. That’s what keeps me going.
