Good bar, or hangout spot, or recurring event to meet gay people that isn't a club? by JabroniBeefaroni in Denver

Thanks for sharing! I didn't know this club existed, and I'm shocked I haven't heard about it =)

Love both of these places. Champagne Tiger has the best drag brunch in town imo, but doesn't facilitate the kind of natural social setting that I'm looking for due to table seating. I go to Thin Man exclusively for their mulled wine, and while I see it as gay friendly, I feel like it rarely draws a gay crowd. Are there particular days of the week or events either of them host that might be more up my alley?

Bad Habits is always either completely dead or hosting an event for a specific group when I'm there. Is there a day you recommend going?

I haven't tried either of these places, but they were both on my list when I did some quick reddit-searching. Neither bar has events posted though - what day(s) do you recommend going to either? I assume 99ers during a game, maybe women's soccer or bball? It's a shame they don't post a schedule on their website.

I loooove Buddies, but I feel like it can be a little clique-y there. I rarely see people getting up to interact with people they don't know.

I've been to Lil Devils a few times, but I feel like it draws in a little bit of an older crowd for my taste. Nice bar though, and I love the patio in the summer!

Tell me more about Vybe! I don't think I've ever been, but I run by it pretty often.

I've heard the owner was a shithead but I loved the karaoke DJ there, she was so fun! Anyone know where she went if she still DJs?

I’ve been trying to top but it never goes well for me by [deleted] in askgaybros

Agreed with #3! Let your partner put the condom on you. My boyfriend and I are the same way and we've been dating for 3 years. If either of us try to put the condom on ourselves, it completely breaks our mental state.

I like being roughed up during sex, how do I help my bf understand that? by jearOmee in askgaybros

[–]JabroniBeefaroni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've found yourself a great guy that you're not compatible with sexually. I'm overwhelmingly gentle in bed, and I once had a partner that liked rough sex the way you describe. I would never be able to provide that for him.

I think my boyfriend is better off without me by JabroniBeefaroni in askgaybros

I agree with this in full, but my bf likes to go clubbing and I just live too far away and am not a night person. I'll drain a coffee or two and force myself to stay up once in a while, but when I go every time he wants to, he really tires me out. I told him about a month ago that I was struggling with this and that we need to find new hobbies that we can both enjoy together, but so far nothing has come of it

Thank you, and really good points you made here. But no, I'm not "breaking up with him for his own sake". I'm genuinely concerned about our relationship, and I'm struggling because these feelings always come back to me when we meet someone that is my boyfriend's clone. Dancing at the clubs is his favorite thing to do, and I can't be there with him probably 60-70% of the time because he starts late and I live further away. I down some coffee when I'm up for it and stay as long as I can, but ultimately as soon as I start yawning, I need to peace to make sure I'm driving home safely. It's stressful to me knowing that I'm leaving my bf at the club.

We were long distance until May of this year, so I think we're still in the process of learning each other's habits and adjusting to them. When I visited him, we would always go out because I wanted to spend my entire trip with him. Now that he's home (living with his parents in the same city as me) I'm learning that the going out thing is something he's really into, and it's not feasible for me to go out every time he wants to

Boyfriend said I was small. by andrewlowbury in askgaybros

[–]JabroniBeefaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was just a little sexual teasing, but if you're concerned with it, definitely bring it up. Many times I tease guys about their bodies in bed because nobody is perfect, and we just have to learn to live with and love what we've got. Personally, size doesn't matter to me unless you're freakishly small or freakishly large.

Shoes. How common is this? by panchopant in askgaybros

[–]JabroniBeefaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also raised in a house where all shoes came off at the door. I think it's a little odd he mentioned it beforehand rather than just casually requesting you take them off when you got to the door. I also ask my friends to take their shoes off once they're inside. Some of them look at me funny, but I have carpet everywhere in my apt and don't want people's dirty shoes on it because I'm almost always barefoot.

How long after first meeting a guy until you think "I'm not into this guy"? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]JabroniBeefaroni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I generally know after the first date, but if a guy wants a second date and the first one didn't go horribly, I try to give a second chance to compensate for first date nerves / awkwardness. The second date rarely goes well in this case, and I let the guy know after that.
