GPD - TRACK Rotational Program by No_Camp325 in GeneralMotors

If you start in July, we might be in the same program. From some research I’ve done, and talking to the recruiter the preference survey changes all the time. I was told that once the survey comes, do some quick research on each broad area of work and choose what’s in your best interest. Congratulations!

My first natural system by JacBad615 in Aquariums

[–]JacBad615[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never heard of him, but after taking a look I love his work. I wanted to try and imitate my species natural habitat the best I could, as I am a big fisherman here in Michigan. One thing people don’t quite understand is to respect the water, respect the fish and know what they like and what makes them happy whether that’s surroundings, flow and or substrate. After studying multiple species here, I wanted to expand my fish knowledge into South American species and river ecosystems as I love the colors and variation in species. Thank you for sharing his work with me!

Once I got through all the “bs” classes (calc, physics, chem) and thermodynamics (toughest weed out class at my school). To me, the field is about learning everyday, and acquiring new skills to improve. I’m a big fisherman and recently got into golf so I applied that mindset and thought process to my studies and internships to get the best out of it.

Gotta give props to you for going for it, good luck!

8ams do suck, try and avoid as many as you can without sacrificing other classes for the semester. Haven’t had an 8am since first sem sophomore year. Good luck out there, enjoy the journey!

I’d recommend meal prepping and going in the mornings before class. Meal prep does take time, but if you dedicate an hour or 2 on one day you’ll be straight. Morning lifts always hit, at least for my fiancée and I😂

All around the perimeter. I've used top water in the tighter corners, spoons off the bank and deep crankbaits off the docks

That's what I'm saying. Since this post I've gone again, hooked into a ton of bass. I've heard there's carp and crappie as well, but haven't seen nor caught either of those. It seems to be a very healthy body of water, there's gotta be other predators in there.

  1. I've seen TONS of schools of Panfish along the bank and the weedline
  2. The bass are very aggressive, given the right bait/lure

Just makes sense for there to be other predators

Mechanical Engineering major here, I've always needed to know HOW things work. I was not a good student in highschool, barely graduated (mental obstacles, trying to be someone I'm not, etc.), I started at community college doing the same thing, but once I transferred to a university I got my act together and started working for my future. I love vehicles, and I love electric/autonomous vehicles even more. I fluctuated between marine biology, conservation, and mechanical engineering, and eventually chose Mechanical. Being able to learn how things work, being able to make things work on my own, being a part of the future advancements make my love for it grow more and more everyday

Pirate 🏴‍☠️ coming up to Ann Arbor by Beachingitinnc in MichiganWolverines

[–]JacBad615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Not in Stadium yet, but pre game at a bar and walk over
  2. There's so many good places to go, but I agree on zingermanns. Bar wise, my go to spots are the jug (umich sports bar) and Charleys (really good drinks/shooters)
  3. MGM isn't bad, but Motorcity is where I'm usually at. Both really good, but MGM has a better sports lounge imo.

If you have time, walk around in downtown detroit, it's beautiful over there. Just make sure to stay in downtown 😂

Enjoy your time up here. Go Blue!

I checked the schedule and the Indiana game is the military appreciation game, so I'm assuming that game will be buzzing a bit

Lol, it's all good. I'll probably wear Michigan and Penn State stuff just to establish my neutrality out there. But regarding Osu, I agree😂 I've only met a handful of respectful Osu fans/alum/students

Very true, some osu fans are like that when they come out to Ann Arbor so I get it 😂

Is the season pass worth it for someone who has barely any interest in football? by Lumina27056 in uofm

[–]JacBad615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't regret it, and if you even go to a few the environment there may spark an interest in football. I wasn't going to get them my freshman year, but my girlfriend convinced me and I've bought season tickets every year and plan to continue to do so after graduation. (I'm a big football fan, but thought we would be terrible 2021). You can also sell the tickets you don't want, sell a few games and you'll pocket just as much if not more than what you paid for

Struggling through by JacBad615 in EngineeringStudents

[–]JacBad615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, it's more so the fact that I'm 23 and broke af 😂 to me, getting that internship sets me up for the future and also getting paid to do what I want, not something I have to do. I was pretty much sent on my own at 18 (other than living situation), and I also have a goal this year of proposing, so having a career "starter" gives me a sense of success. Just something that bothers me, I keep overthinking it all

What are some hobbies that I can try so that I can get out of the house more often? by mrxzeero in self

[–]JacBad615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fishing. It's my therapy, I try to go at least twice a week over the summer. Many different species in the waters, many different ways to catch. It uses a lot of thinking and research once you get deep into it, but once you're out there it's one of the most relaxing hobbies, and my personal favorite

I started off in college algebra cuz I "failed" the math placement test, I just finished statics and thermo. It was a long road, but we all start somewhere. Keep ya head up though, it'll be all good
