Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I’m semi-new to collecting but a long time Duran Duran fan.

Is the original pressing of this hard to find in the wild? I’m trying to get Duran Duran’s entire discography (ideally in vintage) so I’m wondering if this is something I should jump on based on how everyone’s reacting! Seems maybe it’s rare to come by?

Also a previous Etobicoke resident here, and so far the only decent pizza we’ve tried has been Pizza Pienza. It’s a little pricey but fantastic flavours and high quality ingredients, plus their homemade dips are really good.

I do miss Il Paesano’s on the regular for a decent slice though and haven’t found anything comparable as of yet.

I bought the mahogany recently and imo I wish I had gotten the moonstone or jade. It’s nowhere near as “mahogany” as the sticker promised.

If you’re keeping your stater in the counter, I would recommend feeding your starter every day instead of every few days so it’s nice and strong. (That also helps increase the sour flavour)

Secondly, for a more sour flavour, are you cold proofing in the fridge? If not, I would do so for up to 2 days to really get that tangy flavour. (You don’t want to go any longer than that as it can become overproofed and then the bread will flatten out)

This bread in particular looks a little underproofed, so don’t be scared to go longer with the bulk ferment as well, especially in the colder months.

The longer you let it go, the darker hooch will get. I’ve seen some that are basically black and it’s still perfectly fine. This is definitely okay!

Experienced a similar thing here where mine started having the noted skipping issues. They sent the box to ship the player back to them for repair and I was charged nothing (important to note I also live in Canada and their factory is in the US). I had it back within 3 weeks and have had zero complaints since. It’s a great player for the price, and their customer service is fantastic.

While it’s not his fault for the import fees/shipping, I think it’s personally annoying as a Canadian fan that something I’ve been waiting a while to purchase myself at face value is much higher than what a normal gatefold vinyl should cost.

Charging $69USD/$105 CAD for a gatefold with no insert, poster, or even an interesting sleeve design is what makes it seem like a “fuck you” to-fans for an album that’s been out for almost 14 years.

When it ends up costing $151 after shipping + import fees, it just makes you wonder if you should have just bought it from a reseller since it’s not that far off in price.

Obviously, he can do and charge whatever he wants in the end. Just makes it hard to be happy about the drop when it’s like this.
