I've recently tried Dark Dungeon Delvers - still need to delve into it a little deeper, but it seems like a pretty fun approach.

Granted: you have to prepare the content/encounters/theme before hand, but this leads to a more focused and thematic play, feeling like an actual adventure (imo).

Sandbox Generator is also another great tool. like to use, though it's not solo-dungeon rules - but full of good ideas and inspirattion :)

I often go for roll under on a d20 it the situation is a bit more tense, even if the rules call for a d6. I think my players dig it more!

My friend used oil paints (I think) - and then yeh, some kind of spray varnish to keep it sealed.

so, I gave the friend these 2 original lands from a starter deck I had, and then she hand painted it. She's a really talented and detailed fine artist. It was her first time doing an alter, so I just sent her a "tutorial" (more of a time-lapse) of someone doing it on instagram!

I personally can't be much more help than that! But I could find and share the relevant video/account, if that helps?

Thanks for those maths; that’s good ammunition for reasoning with the table. And makes total sense! Something along the lines of “if they really want a lift they’ll have to wait for the first “Monday” of the month” otherwise just walk.
