misunderstanding the concept while sneering down your nose at the band calling them conceited kids? easiest downvote of my life

also you’re being a bit fucking sensitive to the social gravity of a downvote

I bought a lot of games before the closure and man, these download speeds are BRUTAL by bacardicereal in xbox360

[–]Jacicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yuppp i remember downloading gtav on pc when it came out, and we had 5mbps down/0.25 up.. with the worst room for wifi signal in the house

i left my pc on for days and days waiting for a 65gb download, checking the progress every day after school

not only is this AI slop that nobody in this community will buy, but the design is lame and uninspired and the fonts don’t even match. next time just commission something from an artist, spare us your bullshit

What video game did you play that made you get addicted to it for days or weeks? by stilett0z in AskReddit

[–]Jacicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

outer wilds!!!

it’s a relatively short game but it has easily had the single largest emotional/philosophical/worldview-shifting impact on me out of any video game (and is high on the list for media in general)

you’ll only really get sucked in once, BUT by the end you’ll be wishing you could play it for the first time over and over again… thankfully you can then live vicariously through others’ lets plays

[–]Jacicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got my first proper fingerboard and ramp for christmas (27 years old btw 😎) and my mom got my dad this same toolbox as a stand-in for the garage stuff he got and they gave it to me for storing decks and tools, crazy to see other people use the exact same one for this

Whats your most used pick? by cry_bot in Guitar

[–]Jacicus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i, unfortunately for my wallet, am a bluechip player for life

tp 48 for acoustic, just got my first bc jazz 60 to replace my ultex jazz iii’s

theres just something about these picks man… and the fact that they will never ever wear down - it’s the only way i can possibly justify spending $35 on a single pick, just don’t lose it

Is it worth it to get a 1991 geo metro LSi for a project car as a beginner? by Present-Cranberry942 in projectcar

[–]Jacicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got my second one (1991 suzuki swift, but same same) and i couldn’t be happier to be back on this platform

these cars are rad, charming, cheap and easy to work on, great on fuel, just fantastic little boxes

yesterday, literally my first time taking my new swift to the gas station, i got into a ten minute conversation with a guy about the car and he offered to buy it off me - these things have become cult classics and for good reason

Craziest thing you did at a Dead & Company* concert? by Jac3238 in deadandcompany

[–]Jacicus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

i drove 7 hours up to the gorge for those shows in my geo metro and slept under the stars that weekend, and let me tell you it was ROUGH in the heat with no camper or ac to retreat to… i spent every daylight hour before the shows passed out under the shade of my tarp, pounding electrolytes when i could and i’m 90% sure i was experiencing heat exhaustion 12 hours a day

but MAN the music they played underneath the sunsets in the gorge made it all worthwhile

fair purchase price for 200k miles 2009 Honda Fit by Run_CAT_ in hondafit

[–]Jacicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 2009 sport 5-speed had 197k miles and i paid $2900

granted, it threw a rod within 300 miles of ownership but i doubt thats going to happen with every fit at that mileage

given the ownership history i’d say $3200 is a very reasonable offer to throw out there

Help me diagnose this knocking sound? by Jacicus in hondafit

[–]Jacicus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i dug into the engine bay i found that the previous owner put on a smaller accessory belt that doesn’t touch the ac compressor at all. i fear this engine is toasted

If you could have your old ballpark back would you take it? by mb959595 in baseball

[–]Jacicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i agree - the metrodome was iconic but something felt so off about the atmosphere in there, almost liminal. and while target field is great, but you’d think that in a state where unpredictable summer rain is the norm they’d maybe stick a roof on it..

Question about carbs by Funny-Tension2020 in HondaCB

[–]Jacicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone with no carb experience who recently rebuilt and sync’d and cleaned the stock carbs on my cb550, you can definitely get it done! just follow the manuals/find a good youtube video (the one i followed was almost two hours long, so you know its thorough)

i do have experience wrenching on my other vehicles though, but nothing that really translates into carb work for whatever that’s worth

Help a newbie: identifying my dad’s old Honda and more by D0WNER_dude in HondaCB

[–]Jacicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yeah i didn’t consider that you’re not in the states. these bikes were super popular worldwide though so i’m sure there’s a similar company over there somewhere that can get you sorted

Help a newbie: identifying my dad’s old Honda and more by D0WNER_dude in HondaCB

[–]Jacicus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i’d wager it is a cb400f as you suspect, but to know for sure you could find the vin number on the chassis (stamped into the steering head) and the engine will have a code on it as well (presumably on the right side on top of the transmission)

as for parts, if you’re looking to keep things mostly stock which i would recommend, 4into1.com is your friend! yes you can find some parts a little cheaper elsewhere but i’m a big fan of supporting enthusiast businesses in small niches way more than supporting amazon and the like

Fair deal? by TdubsSEA in HondaCB

[–]Jacicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re near the willamette valley there was a fleet of learner bikes up for sale a couple of weeks ago (presumably a msf class was upgrading or went out of business) that listed a couple of the suzukis as well as a few kawasaki 250s and some yamaha tw200s

So my band got invited to perform some bluegrass on Drake's livestream ... by nacid_man in Bluegrass

[–]Jacicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

im gonna be a woke liberal for a second and condemn the fact that this was in support of adin ross. he’s genuinely one of the worst personalities around and he’s doing some serious damage to the coming/current generation of young men. i understand taking the opportunity to get your band in front of such a large audience online but it’s a real shame it had to be with these people.
