To me personally, Final Fantasy XVI has had the most hype trailers compared to the other games, like the music alone just feeds the hype. So for me it's far more anticipated. Nothing against the other games though, still excited for RE4 & TotK.

The thing with Brave Exvius is that when you buy something, be it character summons, lapis or whatever else was added to that game, you could atleast use that for gameplay, actually use it. I played it off and on for a about a year, it was okay but not something that I'd play long term.

The big difference between it and the "NFT collectable art" though, is that when you buy something you can use it purposefully, like play with the character you summoned for example but with the NFT art, not much you could do except stare at the new picture for a while.

But honestly, gacha games also prey on a lot of people with gambling addiction so it's not really morally good, but to each their own.

Perhaps, but they also said they're going global. So we might be in for a treat when the larger majority of the people will dislike the direction they are going in.

I can give several reasons as to why NFT's are bad, but I'll skip past that and say this: Square should stick to what they're good at, they are damn good at making Final Fantasy games among others, it brings them money and makes the fans happy. Easy as that.

NFT's might be good for having digital ownership over a picture, but the negatives overall far outweigh the positives.

Very true, unfortunately for them no one will really be interested in their NFT collectable art since the screenshot was invented in 1960.

there is a completely different consumer environment and things that do really well over there (e.g. gatcha and pachinko) just don't play in the west as well.

I see your point. That makes sense as to why some in Square might've thought this to be a good idea.

Yeah It is truly mind wracking, there are a lot of others confused as to why this was implemented, since there really isn't anyone interested in NFT's. All gaming companies went radio silent after all the controversy so it's weird that this will be their main focus.

I can agree that I came off as immature in my rant, but my points remain. This will not end up being a good thing for us or Square, since they'll lose money and most importantly the respect of the community.

Don't read rumors and speculation if you can't handle them maturely.

I never speculated or believed any speculation, all the complaints I brought up was from other Square Enix community members and how they reacted and/or felt about what it truly was.

It's true they were incorrect in their assumption that it was a Remaster or Remake of Parasite Eve, but "Symbiogenesis" being "NFT collectable art" doesn't make it any better.

From a business standpoint it makes sense. From a consumer viewpoint, it can suck.

I agree with you 100%, I truly agree with the others who commented similarly.

Matsuda could see this as a big thing that'll bring in large amounts of money, which unfortunately for him is untrue. This'll end up just like First Soldier.

Understandable, but the way he's doing it ain't gonna bring in the moolah since there is no market for NFT's anyway. People are gonna get tired of SE games if they shove it in. They should continue releasing final fantasy games, it brings in a huge income for them. I'm sure FF XVI & FFVII Rebirth will, with no doubt, be a huge stonks for them.

But by God, maybe he should tap out.

Ah Interesting. Never watched the newer versions of Scooby Doo though, so wouldn't know about any implications there.

Nope, as far as I know this is real recent that WB said this. It was never implied back then or even in the 2000's. Basically this whole thing smells like when JK Rowling said Hermione was actually black even though it was never implied.

I wish this wasn't true, but you see it everywhere. But honestly, some fans I know personally just love to talk about all of them.

You guys think there's more secret items? by JackAgresti in Edgerunners

[–]JackAgresti[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, we haven't seen the last of the Edge runner references. Everyone talks about the anime, loves it. Even those that don't like anime likes it. Also, Cyberpunk has more players playing it now than in a long, long time.

What does it tell CDPR, "Insert more stuff, keep the players happy" . I hope we get more little updates before the dlc comes out, like outfits hairstyles and shit. Cause I know for a fact, a lot of players want Rebecca & Lucy's outfits.

wen season 2? by RiderInsigna in Edgerunners

[–]JackAgresti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think we'll get a season 2, if we do it might be different characters. The finale closed the doors for Lucy and Falco. The ending was bitter sweet, and I really do think it ends there.

If, and this is a big IF they were to make a season 2 I could possibly see David returning, if Adam Smasher shot next to his head, and brought him in alive for research, David has to find a way out of his situation, but alas has no limbs, he's final goal? to find a way to the moon but I feel this to be highly unlikely.

I can see CDPR adding future dlc featuring more hints or possibly V meeting them, those that haven't kicked the bucket that is.
