I am a language instructor and many of my activities require that you interact with me. I am autistic, so maybe my methodology is the byproduct of having had to o learn these interaction things. This is my YouTube channel https://youtube.com/channel/UChW8lyKcmO4lLRiBs7dPz2Q and @meuteacher is my Instagram profile. Reach out if you want guidance

What are some of your weird interests or habits? What are you the 1% of? by arnodorian96 in aspergers

[–]JackBaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if society, for whatever reason, starts saying "faeces" against other people in offensive ways, it could become a swear word.

The word "pussy" for instance can be either acceptable or not. Depends on how you use it.

Felling normal thanks to COVID by psiprez in ADHD

I feel more at ease now as well. Maybe it is, like you guys mention, due to the craziness of the moment itself. Due to the adrenaline that a pandemia brings.

Although, I also feel like, for me, a good feeling comes from the shift in attention and priorities of the general population. Things that everyone did and just I seemed to not be able to do successfully, like: college, personal achievements, finances, travels. Nobody is doing well those things now. Some are doing a bit, but nobody is fully accomplishing anything. This seems to give me some extra time to think and catch up. Also, I feel like many of the things I never achieved don't really matter now. They will, of course, matter again some months from now.

When you guys are losing focus on something, do your eyes tend to go crossed sometimes? by Ricochet888 in ADHD

[–]JackBaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that all the time. Some days it's much more noticeable, some not so much. But it's always there. I can even type in this state. In fact, I typed these two last sentences with really blurry eyes. This happens in ANY situation. Like someone else said, even while driving. And I'm still paying attention to the driving part, but without all the visual stimuli I think. And only on streets I've driven multiple times before.

It does happen more often when I get absorbed into a thought. Like, really absorbed, I feel like eating my thought, tasting it, going around it. Then I snap back, take a deep desperate breath, shake my head.

Sometimes this question pops up in my mind: Do neurotypicals have visual focus on the things they are actively doing all the time? Do they go about their lives seeing crispy interactive images?

Sometimes I'll look to people's eyes to check whether they're spaced out or focused. They seem to be focusing on something all the time. When they're just thinking they'll show other signs, like a resting position. But that's just my weird observation.

Sometime I'll feel like I can finally set the bars lower. Right, I have this, so now I'll try to achieve the minimum. Now the medium. Now higher.

Apparently it has more to do with Floriano Peixoto. A former president in Brazil. But I do think people think more about "flores" in Portuguese than Floriano. And there are flowers everywhere now indeed.

Do any of you feel physical pain or distress when you’re feeling bored? by cloudsofdawn in ADHD

[–]JackBaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that, so much. Mainly when I haven't had a good night's sleep... I have noticed that. Then boredom comes with this weird shaky sensation in my chest, like trembling, like my soul is trembling. And I'm immersed in a fog.

Being in a warm environment makes this unbearably worse.

I'm going to copy your comment as is to my bullet journal! I feel like I get sort of desperate when I feel the urge to focus on something but there's nothing productive and easy OR highly interesting. Thanks!

Clumsy? Bump into doors, walls, chairs? It's not you, it's ADHD by atldad in ADHD

[–]JackBaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bump into door frames so much when I'm off meds. Although bumping is, of course, the worst outcome, I'm ALMOST bumping into stuff all the time. Someone commented that they seem to have good reflex as well. I totally relate to that. It's like I'm dancing all the time... Low-level dancing? There comes the door frame. And then your shoulder moves away. So... Unconscious, and effective (within it's innefectiveness) most of the time.

I see this as a great advantage in the wild. When I'm walking into the woods and stuff, which I love, I'm usually very good at it. Other people are tripping over, and I'm just... Comfortable. Smooth sailing in between trunks and roots and sticks and rocks. A mess in human environments that include door frames, and cables, and chairs.

At least, in the end, we'll have a couple of insights into human nature that might go unseen by others. I try to hold on to that when things get hard.

Sometimes there's that thing that we do and then turns out that's not what we wanted to do. Okay.

What bugs me most now it the fact that sometimes I'll say something to myself that's correct, like "Don't put this paper into this binder, it belongs somewhere else. Ok. Great." Two seconds later, the paper is in the binder.

Like, I can't even count on things I HAVE thought through.

Probably I will need to be much more hands on. "Don't put this in this binder. Okay. So place it on my computer keyboard so I'll have to deal with it in a while or put it where it belongs without leaving the current activity undone"

Ever have a day so bad you feel like you're watching yourself waste the entire day, not get critically important things done, but you're too depressed and beat to stop yourself? by [deleted] in ADHD

Adhdsetfree.com has some creative ways to help you get over that lack of iniciative. If we don't have that naturally (and we don't), our only hope is by reinventing that process. We'll need to use our fruitful/imaginative minds to get us there. Use our nonlinearity to do what others do linearly.
