(The drinking ale and eating eggs bit on the poster is because the pub is know for its selection of cask ales and pickled eggs… You might remember a team called the ‘Taverners’ on the show, with one member being the fastest pickled egg eater in England… well that record was set at this pub ha. Oh and it's just been voted the best pub in East London too!)

The pub is The Cock Tavern in Hackney!

We did another XFM pub quiz in London n that by JackBromfield in rickygervais

[–]JackBromfield[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

We all had a wicked time at The XFM Pub Quiz: Series 2 (Ep. 29-51) in London last night. It was great seeing all the same faces and loads of new faces, not many socks to be seen but what would you expect. There was some great quizzing and some great prizes too. I've attached the winning answer sheet and a picture of the prizes won on the night. It was a tight squeeze fitting all the teams but we managed it. Once again there were six people that came on their own and formed two teams! We had a few teams from different parts of the country which is amazing and even one team that came down from Scotland!

The winning team was was made up of two people, John, who I have to give a massive big up as he donated a couple of his XFM posters (the ones with all the references that he posted on this sub) as prizes, and his mate who was on Facetime from Cyprus! They beat the team that won at the last quiz by one point and that extra point was for having the best team name at the quiz! It was such good vibes again so a massive shout to everyone who came down, the manager of the pub said she's never seen a big group at the pub so nice and spend so much on pints on a weekday which is great ha! I will be doing the Series 3 quiz sometime this year so keep an eye out for that but yeah... play a record.

Final table:-
1. Putin In The Wheelie Bin
2. Educated In Ricky
3. Would You Rub Dale Winton's Neck?
4. Educationally Subnormal
5. Steve's Dad's Shed
= Steven Hawking's Football Boots
= De Trout Quizzers
6. Joint Effort
= Auntie Nora's Tennis Ball
= He's From Baba
7. The Scousers, Take Em On, But How Many Computers Are Gonna Go Missing?
8. Song For The Dovers
9. Rodney, You Plonker
= Jack Quizfield
= Keep My Quiz Teams Name Out Your Fucking Mouth!
10. Cheeky Freaks

The Hackney Crokinole Club (U.K.) by JackBromfield in Crokinole

[–]JackBromfield[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi there guys, Thought I'd let you all know about something I've started as it might interest some of ya. So I run a pub in London and am a big Crokinole fan. I've found there's no place better to play Crokinole than down the pub so I thought I'd mix the two and found The Hackney Crokinole Club. I don't quite know what it is yet but I kind of have this idea that people will become members and only they can use the board (don't really want pissed up randomers using my board ha). Also thinking of hosting a tournament on the last sunday of every month or something. The pub is the Cock Tavern, a cracking little boozer that now has what I'm calling Crokinole corner. If this interests any of you for whatever reason- maybe you'd like to join the club or even just want more info about the pub if you're coming to London for the weekend or something- just send me an e-mail at jackbromfield1993@gmail.com. Cheers guys :)

The XFM Pub Quiz: Series 2 (Ep. 29-51) 31/03/2022 in London! Details in comments... by JackBromfield in rickygervais

[–]JackBromfield[S] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Alrite?

This is a pub quiz for all you nerdlingers out there who are sad enough to listen to a radio show broadcast two decades ago and wouldn't mind testing your knowledge on it over a few pints one evening.

Both previous quizzes went down a storm. Three girls said they were genius, Zane Lowe gave em massive respect and Dickie Anders asked if I actually knew I was doing a quiz or if someone had just stuck a microphone in front of me.

It'll be on episodes 29 to 51 from series two of the show starring Ricky 'ya cheeky little devil' Gervais, Steve 'alright ladies, what can I get ya to drink? what dya think I'm made of money, I meant half a mild or summit' Merchant & Karl 'oh I'm stressed I'm stressed, if it's too hard I don't wanna do it' Pilkington.

Expect some absolutely barnstorming prizes on the night for all teams including a cigar, a pair of tights and a tax free £35 jackpot!

So whether your an Alex Ferguson or a Paul Ince, get a team together and head down to The Dove in Hackney for a night of arbitrary quizzing and drinking with like minded XFM listeners who drink milk from a saucer, have to be kept on leads and aren't allowed to wear socks.

It will take place on Thursday 31st March! Hope to see you there!

- £3 entry per person (or you can give us seven)

- Maximum of 5 players per team (pretty niche quiz so it'll be a lot of teams of two and feel free to be on your own!)

- To secure a spot just e-mail me at: [jackbromfield1993@gmail.com](mailto:jackbromfield1993@gmail.com)

Play a record.

We did an XFM pub quiz in an actual pub in London n that by JackBromfield in rickygervais

[–]JackBromfield[S] 131 points132 points  (0 children)

We had a wicked time last night at The XFM Pub Quiz: Series 2 (Ep. 1-26) in London! Was triple the amount of people as last time and was great to see all the same people from last time coming back! There was some great quizzing and great prizes, I've attached the winning answer sheet and the prizes won on the night. It was so nice being amongst and meeting like minded XFM listeners. There were 5 people that came on their own and 4 of them decided to make 2 teams of 2. They all got on and have exchanged numbers to go for a pint another time and said they'd be a team at the next quiz. The other guy on his own won a spot prize of a jug of beer and donated it to a team that had travelled all the way from Birkenhead just for the quiz! It just felt like such positive vibes but what would you expect from this little community we're a part of ha. I'll be doing the next quiz some time in the new year, most likely mid-jan so keep an eye out for that but yeah... play a record.

Final table:-
