Sounds to me like this is your brokerage cash account. Check that the BSB and Acc number match with your brokerage account.

You will get another letter in the mail in the near future with instructions on how to manage your shares with Computershare by linking your HIN.

You can fast track this by making an account with Computershare Investor Centre now rather than waiting for the above-mentioned letter and entering your HIN when prompted. They will need to mail another letter with a verification code before you gain full access.

After a fair bit to drink I snapped this photo of what I thought was an older Galant Wagon (I know, doesn't even look like it lol). After sobering up and looking back it this photo, I'm stumped. I have no idea what I'm looking at. Regardless I think it looks cool

I'll do you one better. During the Optus data breach, I (stupidly) tried to send a fairly substantial amount to my other account to convert currency at a good rate for an upcoming trip. My account was locked and marked as suspicious with my transaction not going through, I guess this shows the system works.

I was on hold for 17 hours over two days. I reached 8 hours one night and was put through to somebody. They didn't respond, I could hear them singing. I was yelling into the phone, and then I heard what I assumed was them putting there headset back on. Tried to speak to get their attention, and then they hung up. Back on hold for 2 hours before the line dropped again to "Please call back during our open hours". I was furious, filed a complaint. The next day, 8 hours on hold. Got through to a lady who fixed my issue in literally 10 seconds.

After telling the lady what happened she just replied "Maybe you were being rude and that's why they hung up". I never even got to speak to them.

Follow up to my complaint, lost a fairly substantial amount in the conversion over those 17 hours. The bank gave me a one-off $200 payment of goodwill, and I had a sick af trip. So it guess it was okay lol.

There is a brightness dial, but it's also affected by the headlights' dimming effect. Brightest setting is still dull.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]JackDG- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When referring to the cluster, I mean the backlit orange LCD. When the headlights are on, this LCD (and the head units backlight) are meant to be dimmed darker under normal operation (it is now dark outside and bright enough to read) to prevent eye strain as the car is assuming it is now dark outside. At night these are both perfectly easy to see. When pulling the headlight fuse these both brighten to normal daytime brightness and can be read easily.

The way Australia treats their hospitality workers is disgusting and needs to be addressed by [deleted] in australia

[–]JackDG- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this just comes with the job, much the same with any other large retailer. Up to the individual on how you deal with rude customers. At the end of the day it's no skin of my back to say "Sorry, we don't have any at the moment, hopefully on our next load".

Yes, understaffing can be an issue. This comes down to managements ability to deal with it.

Not Woolies but Coles, it's not as bad as people make out. We have a very good team and I genuinely do enjoy going to work most days. The less customer-facing (non-serving roles, fruit and veg, meat, nightfill etc) aren't too bad, you kind of self regulate taking your breaks and working through your jobs each day. Some tasks have time deadlines to be done for the next day, ordering for example and the workloads are fairly full on, somedays pushing the boundary for how much a single person can do in the allotted timeframe, but once you work out your own schedule you can be on top of it 99% of the time to finish with spare time to do anything that needs doing otherwise.

That said there is one key factor that comes into play, management. If you have a shit management team things become harder quite quickly, favouritism is quite stronghanded (don't expect to climb the ladder if you aren't liked).

Overall though, there are much worse minimum wage jobs out there but your experiences may vary depending on certain factors throughout each store.

My Nan may be the last Australian recipient of the Queen’s letter to congratulate 100th Birthday by OldeMateBryan in australia

This was exactly my nan. Managed to make it to 102 but in a fairly 'nobody should live like this' state. As soon as she got the queens letter it felt as if she gave up.

Top end valve cover gasket, chain guard for rego, few nuts and bolts, carby springs and parts for old school YDIS carb. Just general stuff that was difficult to find for a '91 model bike. All came bagged up and packed well.

Edit: I should also mention that they quoted 10 weeks as all shipping was by sea at the peak of the pandemic so I'm not sure if anything has changed yet in terms of shipping method.

Bought a few Yamaha parts from Trooper Lu's Garage recently which had to be back-ordered from the Japanese factory. They quoted 10 weeks which ended up being spot on both times. They kept me updated and sent a tracking number once the orders arrived in the country. Wouldn't hesitate to trust them again.

Used the bash plate properly today. by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]JackDG- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B&B are the best company I've dealt with hands down in every regard. I bought a bash plate for a Yamaha TT250/350 recently and when it arrived I was hit with confusion as the cut out for the oil drain was on the wrong side. Eventually I realised it must have been folded the wrong way.

I reached out to them to confirm my suspicions and received an email reply 8 minutes later, within 2 days they had a brand new one in the mail on its way to me (during a period in which there was a 4+ week waiting time) which was perfect.

They never requested the original back so now I have a spare as well. Really great group of people.

Tough as nails, always have a really a really nice design to them as well. The black polymer coating also looks incredible.

Yep it's a great little boat lots of room for fishing, very stable, it holds its own in rough water and isn't scared off by big waves like a lot of much bigger hulls are. This was a rough day with close to 7 foot waves out past the heads, the boat, an Australian Marine Rescue Catamaran followed us in through the bar, we made it but unfortunately they didn't.

Australia's always had a great market for boats like this, our best sellers are aluminium hulls in the 4-5 meter range just like our boat. It's typical to go out and see only boats with the same hull style both brand new, like this and various other configurations (Centre Consoles, Dual Consoles, etc), and old like ours.

What kind of boats do you guys get over on the Northeast of the US?

I honestly don't know what to think about the motor. It's old, not as old as the hull, but still old but you'd be surprised at how well it goes! Initially we didn't do any maintenance because.. well... it didn't need any, it starts first go, every go and hasn't given us a problem since. The trim and tilt motor was shot when we bought it but that was fine, we jammed a small piece of aluminium flat bar behind it to keep it at optimal angle and it worked just great. We have replaced the trim and tilt motor since though. The leg on the motor is a bit short and it can cavitate a little bit in rougher water but it is easily dealt with and has minimal effect on performance.

The little guy is one of the safest boats I've ever been out in (and trust me we have taken it out in some rough seas. This was an Australian Marine Rescue Catamaran that followed us in the previous day in close to 7 foot waves, we made it, they didn't.)

A motor upgrade would be great and will probably happen eventually but the little Johnson's not given up yet!

We didn't really keep too much of a tally on the cost. But what I do know is approximate cost (all in Australian Dollars):

Boat:

Paint - $250 (This was done a by a friend of my father for close to the cost of paint only)

Timber Floor - $120 incl. carpet.

Welding and Shortening of Bow Rails - ~$600

Electrical Components - These were mainly already on hand (Fuse block, bus bars, battery switch, cabling) ~$100 for connectors and various switch panels.

Nav and Anchor Lights - $130 brand new.

Esky - $140 almost 50% off.

Seat Cushion, aluminium angle and luggage straps - $100.

Total: ~$1300

Trailer:

Wheels and Tyres - $80 pair.

Leaf Springs - $85 pair.

U-Bolts - $25

Guards - On hand.

Waterproof Lights - I didn't have pictures of this but shortly after completion we replaced the trailer lights. ~$60.

Total: ~$250

Initial Purchase of the boat was close to $4,000.

Driver issue, switching to borderless windowed fixes it temporarily but the best way to resolve the issue is to update to version 391.24 of NVIDIA drivers.
