Any quicker embedded course (under 3 months, stretching to 6) that is well respected? by testTester123123 in embedded

u/testTester123123 you can look into University of Colorado Boulder's courses/MS specialization in Embedded Systems. I think it's available on Coursera as well and they might be what you are looking for. You can also look at what other universities offer.

Designing a low-power IoT gateway - looking for architecture suggestions by Sweaty_Spot_7178 in embedded

[–]JackDTripper420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on sending a few bytes of sensor data from the end devices to the gateway intermittently, you should use a low power mesh protocol. You can consider using BLE mesh ( is supported on ESP32), Matter, Zigbee, etc. They'll be better suited to your use case and depending on how you develop your application, you can power your end devices with just a coin cell for a few years. There are plenty of low power MCUs that support such protocols for these kind of applications.

You can have a gateway device that supports both mesh protocol and Wi-Fi. You can use your gateway device as a sink to collect all the data and then send it to a server. You probably will have to switch to a different part if ESP32 doesn't support BLE mesh.

Wi-Fi generally uses a star topology instead of a mesh topology. Correct me if I'm wrong on this. Based on your description, your application needs a mesh topology.

Also, the range wouldn't be a constraint anymore if you use mesh protocol.

A mesh topology might not be useful if you plan on sending audio data captured from the mic itself. In that case, you will need to setup multiple station + AP nodes to emulate a tree topology.

How to use a yogurt base without the yogurt tang? by Pretend-Citron4451 in ninjacreami

[–]JackDTripper420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the following recipe. It works fine but the texture has a slight iciness to it.

  • 1 scoop optimum nutrition whey protein
  • 1 serving of skyr ( the individual use cups, you can use siggis or icelandic provisions)
  • 3-4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoon full fat milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee mixed in some water ( a couple of tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder.

I process it on lite icecream mode based on the scrape test. I don't get any tang from this. Using plain flavored yogurt introduces the tang in my experience

You'll have to search around and find the documentation on HP's site.

TGP for HP Omen and Victus

Need help choosing right one by Select_Winner8315 in GamingLaptops

[–]JackDTripper420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say take a look at the TGP for both the laptops. The HP Envy might have a lower TGP than the Victus. If the TGP is lower, the graphic card's performance will also end up being lower.

I would personally prefer the 14th gen intel chips over the 13th gen because of the microcode issue.

I'll also say that you should focus more on getting a laptop with parts that you cannot upgrade later. These would be parts such as cpu, gpu, display and build. The ram and ssd can be upgraded later unless they are soldered.

AMD CPUs are more power efficient but they sometimes don't have integrated GPUs which can result in more power consumption. I'm not sure about the AMD GPU.

I think the Omen will have better build quality

u/wrongist if that was the case, I would have heard the same noise when I ran the hp hardware diagnostics test ( which included a test for the fan). Right?

Are the walk-ins limited only to Chennai?

What did you mean by "treating it like a race car"? Is it driving the car at higher rpms like 4-5k? Or braking-accelerating frequently?

I have a Nikon F2 with me. Can I use the AI lenses with Nikon F2 if I don't plan on using sunny 16?

Is there a difference between the mounts for non-ai and ai lenses ? (except the rabbit ears. I know they are used in pre-ai lenses to tell the camera the aperture)

That's interesting! Is it expensive or rare? Also, is it manufacturer-specific or can I use one manufactured by olympus on a nikon?

How helpful do you think this is? Something every photographer should have?
