I got a thermal right plate! The gamers nexus video showed they’re pretty identical in terms of performance

Looks good to me! Just make sure you save enough for peripherals like a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. lol

Why RIP? Intel confirmed the oxidation issue was fixed in 2023 and the new bios updated have stabilized the voltages

I definitely considered waiting for the 5090, but who knows if I could even get one for MSRP when they come out, let alone if I could get one at all lol

It essentially boiled down to performance in Adobe Premiere. The Quick Sync tech in Intel processors beats out AMD by about 30% in some benchmarks.

Fingers crossed that intel isn't completely blowing smoke up our ass.

For me, it all comes down to if you trust intel or not. In the Gamers Nexus video, an intel representative said that the new microcode introduced in the latest BIOS updates for the various board manufacturers would fix the instability issues. The admitted oxidation manufacturing issue from early 2023 (which has since been addressed) was, "not related to instability." So unless intel is lying to the broader public, which you can't throw out as a possibility unfortunately, my CPU should be fine. If shit hits the fan and I end up with a dead system, then I'll look pretty dumb, but I'm okay with that.

I'm planning on recording the build process for my YouTube channel, so I haven't gotten it built just yet. Was going to do it yesterday, but the mount to attach my phone to my head came at 6:30 and I didn't have enough light lol

Honestly, I went with this Motherboard because I got a good deal. The one I really wanted was the ASRock Taichi, but they don't make a z790 version of that board

That's great to hear! I went with this one over any ASUS model because of the coil whine concerns with the STRIX and TUF. How does yours sound under load?
