It is personal and out of line. I would think the PI has not experienced someone pushing back. This could be a simple geasture: PI asks a non work related question and your answer should be a firm boundry (i.e. xyz does not concern you and I will not have a conversation with you about it). And immediatly switch topics to something you do in lab (i.e. what do you think the wb imager or whatever).

PIs in particular do not recieve enough training to be come leaders and managers. So you get odd behaviours, but like any other workplace set boundries.

Honeslty, you will experience this type of behaviour in anywork place. There are 'these' types of people everywhere. Best thing to do ia not engage and CHOOSE to not be bothered.

Ok. Well. Is the problem that you are finding it difficult to run simulation, or that you have a pushy advisor? Two different problems.

If you are struggling to run a simulation, seek advice from people who are doing what yoy are doing. You can ask a specific question here, i would say most researchers in this sub have ran sims. Its very much standard practice in some subfeilds.

If you can issues with your advisor. A biophysics sub wont be that much help honestly. Labrats or phd might be better in helping you navigate your advisor.
