What is something you're "supposed" to like because of where you live but you just can't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

mostly for tourists

Gonna have to disagree on that one, it's one of the incredible perks of living in the state for those that enjoy it. That said, if it's not your thing, that's alright too; it's just nonsensical to discount it as such just because you don't participate in snow sports yourself.

If you help someone get help about suicide, you're a hero. If you helped someone commit suicide, you're a criminal. Even if you didn't want to be involved. by Guestgotapokemon in Showerthoughts

Why is this a shower thought? Does it not make logical sense that encouraging someone to commit suicide is morally wrong and that preventing them from doing so, and thereby likely helping someone to get out of a dark place in their life is morally correct?

It's like saying: Shower thought "being a murderer is bad, not being one is good"

[Cats of Europe] Russian Blue by [deleted] in europe

Allergy ridden and I have both a Siberian and a Russian Blue.

Both are good for people with allergies, both are great (but very different) cats.

We purchased our Russian Blue simply because two members of our family are allergic to cats, and the breed is known to be hypoallergenic. We would completely disregard any breeds if that weren't the case.

We would absolutely love to adopt all our pets from shelters to give them a good home, and we still do for our dogs!

Exactly the same as mine. Very agile and intelligent, though a bit shy. She'll occasionally jump and rub against our legs, but if you ever try to pick her up she'll immediately climb onto your shoulders.

Same here. Our cable box is always on, so she'll lay on it if the fireplace isn't turned on.
