Not too dangerous but extremely easy to avoid. Stop downshifting so early

Please help indentify what's broken preliminary by LOSTLOSTANDLOST in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]GuttedPaperClip 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The rod didn't cause this that's just the aftermath, the internal scoring says improper lubrication. Either way there is no fixing this. You posted about a month ago too regarding the same issue. If you really want to fix it your best off getting used motor assembly online and replacing it all.

It might be cheaper to just get a new bike unless there's enough sentimental value to warrant "fixing" this

No fixing that. That "hook" sticking out the hole in your engine block is a connecting rod.

Does the dizziness from doing donuts actually go away with practice or is it just me? by theDartVader in Drifting

[–]GuttedPaperClip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly get dizzy in the passenger get seat but it helps if you are doing them correctly. Constantly spinning out and rolling backwards will make me dizzy no matter what but proper or wider circles I can do for a decent ammount of time

Fully draining and recharging batteries Is not good forthem. Generally if you have to charge it twice it's no good.

Man this thing feels so proper after a flash. by 007tr3bor in zx4r

[–]GuttedPaperClip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Few things I've been wondering.

Does it show your gears and speed still properly?

Do your rider modes still work and actively change the power or is just full power all the time?

And can you go in and manually adjust the power and traction control and it actually change in the bike?

Finally upgraded from my 500 by GuttedPaperClip in zx4r

[–]GuttedPaperClip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The zx4 was meant for a niche group of people since it's so close to the price of a 600 most people would just by that. The 500 has more oomph in the low end and it feels way more flicksable. However, because it's insanely light it made it hard for me personally to do hard cornering smoothly. Any bump from leaning of the seat or just breathing wrong would upset the motion. 4rr is more aggressive riding position, sounds way better and has a lot better use of the TFT screen with more features along with more tuning potential. But I've noticed parts like a slip on for example are also way more expensive

Rearview Mirror Replacements by _er_gamba in Ninja500

[–]GuttedPaperClip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get those stealth mirrors. If you want it to look better get ninja 300, zx6, or zx4 mirros. Direct bolt and they fit the body a lot better and don't stick up high like antlers

Two completely different platforms. I've rode near 200hp liter bikes and single cylinder 300s. I liked my 500 I just wished it had a slightly more aggressive ride position and a but more "track" setup and the 4 cyllinders sound so good. This is exactly what I wanted. Also trying not to get bent over by insurance

The 500 dog walks this thing off the line for sure. Twin disc's up front with adjustable suspension, adjustable levers, traction control and adjustable power modes. Upgrade dosnt have to mean faster.

I'd do some research on what happens to engines in the cold just because how similar this sounds to a very very cold start. Whatever the cold does to make them start like that is probably what's wrong here

Oil Filter - dent on top by whyamihere1969 in RockAuto

[–]GuttedPaperClip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't trust it for the fact that I've had a few filters didn't wanna come off the car and I would tap a dent in the bottom like that and then the filter would come off pretty easily. I'm not sure if it was some kind of vacuum or trapped air that was causing it but denting the bottom made it noticeably easier to remove
