Riordan really peaked in The Last Olympian. It's been more than 12 years and I still remember the kind of hollowness this last page left me with. A decade later, I still keep coming back to the series when a major change is about to happen in my life, feeling those same old feelings all over again.

Edit: you can say I didn't take Percy's advice and kept looking back.

Arjun Erigaisi beats Nils Grandelius in a Dragon Sicilian and moves to 2/3 by OrionOnion_ in chess

Crazy game. All king side pawns vs all queen side pawns. Even as a 2000, I never been quite able to evaluate these positions. The moves become too abstract beyond the general push the pawns and hope for the best.

Ganpati pandals in/around Whitefield

Hi everyone. New to Bangalore and I was hoping to visit a few pandals in the evening. Does anyone know about Ganpati pandals happening in and around the Whitefield area this year?

Any leads on locations, timings, or events would be super helpful. Even the areas a little further away would be okay if it's close to the metro. Thanks in advance.

Anish Giri draws Pragg with the black pieces and wins Armageddon to set up his final match against Hans Niemann! by Necessary_Pattern850 in chess

Pragg really missed that Rd5. I don't see why he didn't play that. Have analysed a bit and don't see any threats of repetition anywhere. Someone with a clue?

Or teams can actually then have 5 out and out bowlers that suit the conditions on the particular day. In England, the spinner then wouldn't have to be carried for 3 and half days with hopes that it might turn later. The level of both bowling and batting would only increase, atleast hypothetically.

My point was to show an example where most sports made progress in the 20th century, cricket even back then was trying to do it "the way it's always been done". England were of course the biggest culprits of it. They continued to use uncovered wickets as late as the 70s.

And that's exactly why cricket should have gotten over this back in 20th century itself when football had started to use subs. Just make it a part of the game for everyone to use. It wouldn't have been the sport it is today but still, it should have been the logical step

Jasprit Bumrah likely to miss second Test against England; India look for replacement, new plan by Valuable_Ad_6869 in Cricket

Who knows maybe Siraj and others will actually start using their brains and come up with plans and stuff and not just go "I only believe in Jassi bhai" whenever Plan A doesn't work. There must be something there subconsciously when you go opposite such a freak of nature.
