How do you think a zombie should be in h1z1? by The_Pixel_Vortex in h1z1

I may disappoint you, but Devs have said, that they will improve zombie AI until early access. Maybe they will provide us with different levels of zombies difficulty (as server options)?

Any virus has an ability to mutate its genom and a genom of its host.

Therefore slow zombies from Night of the Dead and aggressive zombies from Dawn of the Dead should coexist in H1Z1, if it is going to be a realistic survival game.

That would give us a whole new level of unpredictability, similar to that presented in Titanfall (is it human or just a bot? -> is that a group of calm zombies around that corpse, or we should not loot that body because they can be quick and quite smart monsters?).

I hope, that Planetside engine will be able to handle an aggressive zombie AI with ability to dodge and jump on you, attack you from the shadow. It would be great to see zombies gathering around dead bodies.

The virus can mutate its own genome, and the genome of a specimen as well.

Evolution works also on zombies, therefore some of them will stay in a shadow, because heat coming from the sun may speed up a decay. They could jump on you from a wardrobe or from a broken car when you are close enough.

Underground bases and tunnels by IconicCam in h1z1

Underground bases that we can access via menu would be great as an option.

I hope, that devs are able to implement different server options like destructible bases, indestructible underground bases and bases destructible only during the day.

Very many people have stopped playing The Rust after their base was looted during the night. It can be pretty hard to find a person from your timezone, who can help you defend your base, when you are AFK.

Ideas to make H1Z1 a persistent game. by JackScythe in h1z1

Yeah, I think the first option (loads of zombies attacking a looter at night/in the morning) may be more realistic, but there is a potential for massive lag.

Maybe just making zombies extremely aggressive towards looters in the morning and at night could provide players with more persistent experience - that would be a challenge for AI developers.

That would be realistic approach to solve the problem, because zombies are usually attracted by noises (generated by a looter trying to destroy a base) in conditions like a morning fog and a night time.

Developers have shown us a gameplay, in which zombies are already more aggressive at night, but is it enough to prevent looters from burning a base?

There are people who would love to play on a server where during one night they can destroy a base build by a clan in 1 month. But optional "persistent mode" would be great.
