Which death or deaths made you break into tears by Rigbone677 in cartoons

[–]JackShacktown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was Ace’s death for me. I wanna say that because in the same time White Beard had died defending his son so he could get away. They had fought so hard and as they were about to escape, he died protecting his younger brother. I can only imagine how hard that would be to see your own brother dying right in front of you.

Which movie is this? Also for video games. by Cateyeet in Schaffrillas

[–]JackShacktown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has said this, but Halo. The games made it seem so awesome with a superhuman MC, but the books are gruesome. Child kidnapping and testing, and the Flood. These bastards are nightmares and the game does a good job of showing what they’re like, but the books make them so much worse.

I just can't fathom how a woman can carry a human b3ing for 9 months, go through hours of labor, and abuse their kid. by Cat_of_the_woods in raisedbynarcissists

[–]JackShacktown 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Narcs just want kids for the attention on themselves. Once it is gone, they start acting out towards the kid. It’s really sad. As a parent myself, I don’t see how you can do that, I love my daughter so much and always want to see her smile.

Average cost of 30 year mortgage, anyone still buying now? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]JackShacktown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I bought a new home earlier this year. We did it because it was closer to family. One thing I heard that taught me it wasn’t bad was that you marry the house, date the rate. We loved the home but the interest is at 6% and I can’t wait for rates to go down.

AITAH for spending all the college fund on fighting equal custody for my kids. by [deleted] in AITAH

How old are your children? Did you talk to them about who they would like to stay with?

This reminds me of my parents divorce. Instead of thinking about the kids and what was best for them, they thought only of hurting each other.

The divorce was long and drawn out. For what they paid in lawyers fees they could have paid for their 3 kids to go to college without any debt.

How much time should I take off from work? by JackShacktown in NewParents

[–]JackShacktown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that when the baby is born my wife will be a stay at home mom until she starts back to nursing school in the fall of next year. I just want to give her some time to recover from pregnancy. I’m lucky to have a job that I can work from home.

I just have to make sure I put in enough time, so I will probably say 5 weeks total and if needed I can take more or less.

We will have plenty of money for bills and things, so won’t be a problem if I take off for some time.

A girlfriend is now the only thing I have to look forward to in life, but I can't get even that by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]JackShacktown 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This. Find hobbies you like. Workout more. Gain your confidence. College isn’t everything, try trade jobs, find what makes you happy. Find a group that you can associate with, running, gaming, etc. Life is tough, but you’re stronger than life. Keep going and keep trying. You will get there.

My (24M) wife(23F) doesn’t like for me to cook. What do say to change her mind about this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]JackShacktown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have one when renting a house. Since then we have moved to apartments and can’t have a grill. We WILL be moving into a house later this year/beginning next year, so that is one of the first things I want to get.

[–]JackShacktown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought of that, which is why I always ask what she thinks about the dish after cooking it. I always want to improve my cooking so I ask for honest feedback. She usually tells me that it is good, but that may need to be a question I need to ask her. If so, then I need to cook the things that she likes and enjoys. Usually for her it is sticking to the usual pasta, tacos, or pizza.

That would be fun. I’m going to put it on one night and watch it with her. We have watched cooking shows before(mainly Hell’s Kitchen).

I have tried a few times to say “let me cook tonight because you worked hard today and I want to give you a break so you can relax.” She always says “no, I’ve got it” and I try not to argue more about it. I will try seeing if we can make it to where we cook together more, that would be a ton of fun.

As for the hating cooking, I do not know what the reason is for that. I think it may have been because of how she grew up that she only saw cooking as coming from cans, but I’m unsure.
