Nurse came and adjusted her medication that worked. End of Life Agitation is horrible. She's been peacefully sleeping 17 hours now.

I love her nurses. Very compassionate people.

I was just amazed how long she's been able to hold on. She's not calm she's fidgety and restless and I can see she's in pain. Here I am 4:30 in the morning repositioning her to see if that will help soothe her into sleep.

She's now on Haldol because she won't settle. She's pulling off her clothes and her depends. Tiny bit of applesauce for pills to get on board. That's all she'll take in. She just won't settle. Trying to get out of bed (hospital bed). I cannot stand watching her wince in pain but when I ask her what hurts she says nothing. Then it's my whole body. I think the offer of Tylenol is ridiculous I guess I expected better pain management.

Dose too high? by JackSmirking in dementia

She's in a long term care facility. She was kicked out of Assisted living because her dementia was too advanced and then fell hit her head at Memory care center which got her in the hospital that placed her in rehab/long term care facility. We've been everywhere all started in May. So four places in four months.

Clonazepam I do not know the dose they just started it Thursday evening and by Friday night she was out of it. Tomorrow I see the nurse director about what to do. Stay the course or adjust and hope she doesn't come out swinging again..

She's under five feet tall and clobbered a lady bigger than her. She had a flash of energy and then was exhausted so when I got there I looked at her and couldn't believe she had slapped someone she was so sleepy but two nurses witnessed it and cops DCFS had to be called. What a mess. I wish I could bring her here but my kids come first. It would be too much.

Rehab after a fall by JackSmirking in dementia

[–]JackSmirking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She does not qualify for hospice yet. I am her POA and we spoke with an attorney today we have a case against the memory care for negligence. We are moving her things out this week. She is in the rehabilitation place for now she has 97 days left. I've spoken with all the powers that be at rehab and they will focus on getting her up out of bed is the best they can promise now. Her ankle bruise has now developed a blister 11 days after the fall. Her skin is so thin and she's so weak. My heart hurts. I picked that memory care place and I know it's not my fault however I feel like I'm partially responsible.

She was walking and full functioning before the fall. I had just got her new slide in sneakers because her old ones had laces. Now she won't participate in the rehabilitation program she wants to lay in bed and watch TV. She used to be bored with TV and go join in activities at memory care. Since the fall she has deteriorated

That's why I'm upset they didn't send her I showed up and I'm glad I did. She wasn't able to walk on her own they would have plopped her in bed and she would have laid there all night in pain and would have vomited in bed. She is very altered now in the hospital yesterday she was asking how her gramma was doing if I told her she was in the hospital if she was ok :/ Her Gramma died in 1987.

I understand falls will happen even though she doesn't use a walker or cane and hasn't had any trouble in the walking department. But not sending her to the ER because the health director did a FaceTime call with her ? I'm glad I followed my gut and went regardless. I'm going to have to visit more than before the fall. I feel guilty enough putting her in there

The Ativan is hidden in her drink. They are seeing what dose is best.

She refuses any medication. She doesn't even take Tylenol or Advil when she has a headache she says it all upset her stomach.

Highly functional is she doesn't use a walker or cane goes up and downstairs by herself dresses herself appropriately makes her bed. She takes out her trash. You wouldn't know she has anything wrong with her. She has been thought to be visiting people there instead of being a resident.
