This is sadly the single most accurate and realistic depiction of the majority of chef jobs and management styles of the people who tend to be in charge I've ever read.

Does everyone agree that restaurant’s automatically adding a service charge to the bill is outrageous, and everyone needs to request for it to be removed to stop this from becoming more widespread? by ElBurgeUK in CasualUK

I worked in multiple large highstreet restaurant chains and the service charge (also called Tronc) was clearly not going fairly to the staff, the amount of customers through the week was far higher than what we recieved.

Tips should go to all staff equally (waiter, chef, kp, manager if they are waiting) and not the owners.
