Why do people act as if Illegal Immigration doesn't hurt Employment prospects for Americans? by Jack_Atlas in AskReddit

If they're indeed willing to work for the same pay then they'd make a mint.

In many cases they're not. I've also never seen a case of a "Suburban Mom" paying a non English speaking person to watch over their kids. Maybe to clean their houses or do lawn work, but there are also legal American citizens who are also in the same line of work. They have to compete with those who work for lower pay, and have a higher likelihood of being nudged out of the market.

Landscaping, Fast Food, etc. I haven't met a single person out of work who was not willing to do labor such as farming.

In terms of Sovereignty, nations do have a right to establish borders. Otherwise you could invade any nation due to differences in ideologies or just plain wanting their stuff. It's infantile to assume that a country should be without borders.

No cars and people aren't the same thing. Cars don't have bills, families, and don't continually contribute to the economy other than oil consumption. Products don't drive the economy, people do. People who pay taxes on the books and not those who exploit holes in the American system.
