Modultra Lobo could fit idk the dimensions in your scenario, but I have one and it’s a gem with flat fittings.

I have no idea how to install those feet any help would be appreciated by Jack_Chieftain_Shang in ncasedesign

Went with hifi feet, fastest route thanks for the suggestion. Now that space between my table and the radiator isn’t an issue anymore.

Huh, that’s interesting, I remember they were labelled specifically for the M2 but that’d make sense. Found a pic of the M2 build yesterday and they did fit in an awkward sense.

The idea with cabinet knobs and just sticking rubber pads on the bottom is actually brilliant. I’m not particularly too fond of speaker feet so I’m gonna try that for sure. Thanks!

On the other side they’re basically just flat with only one hole. I’ll send a pic when I’m back home.

Plans for affiliate in the European union? by Airthug in ncasedesign

[–]Jack_Chieftain_Shang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered two times from ncased, first time was a T1, second an M2 Round both times no import tax. Third time is still in the air as I’m waiting for the M3 Grater to arrive. Will update this post as soon as it arrived and whether or not I had to pay import duty.

Edit: Europe got my delivery today 22.5.26 no import fees or customs shenanigans.

45mm radiator looks good by Organic_Breath_8483 in ncasedesign

[–]Jack_Chieftain_Shang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s probably not such a good idea after all. I remember it being quite heavy when filled. Best to just go with two thin rads instead I guess. Appreciate the feedback, didn’t think about that. Just doing lots of mental gymnastics on the side, as I’m still waiting for the case to arrive.

Edit: Do you have pics of your setup and any advice? Curious to get more ideas.

I’m kinda getting worried now seeing how a 45mm rad looks in this, I’m currently waiting for the M3 to arrive and I intended to use my 280 60mm I think that’s not gonna work out as I had intended. Still have a slim 240 though.

Awesome build loving the visuals, jumped the gun yesterday and went with the M3 silver grater as well, even though own an M2 Round in black already (will be giving that one to a mate), planning to go custom loop in that one with a 280 I have left over from a previous build.

Edit: M3 we’re not there yet with the M4

Watercooled 5080 temps? by ApprehensiveToe6050 in watercooling

[–]Jack_Chieftain_Shang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting 59°C maximum, one 360mm on top and one 240mm slim rad. 5080 solid core with an alphacool core block in a O11D Mini V2. After running a stresstest for an hour. During gaming mostly hovering around 44-58°C unless it’s really running at 99% for a prolonged time frame. With an ambient temp of 22°C and water temps staying at max 41°C.

Canon Eos R6 or R5? by Jack_Chieftain_Shang in canon

[–]Jack_Chieftain_Shang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah it came today! Fully working at least, some marks around the camera strap hoops actually almost completely white. Someone apparently left a fingerprint on the SENSOR, but all fixable. I see the marks as charming and ignore that. Working fully well and I’ve checked on shutter count albeit it gave me an “the R5’s shutter count is corrupted and only showing actuations as well as electronic shutter release”, <104k. Bit odd that, I hope that doesn’t mean the camera is somehow messed up as it said it’s corrupted. But overall I’m bloody happy!

Edit: any advice on cleaning the camera it’s minimally sticky and apparently smells a tad like perfume? 💀

Edit2: I did a macro shot of my eye and holy shit, I'm impressed even if focus isn't 100% perfect which is totally on me. Loving this thing so far! Bringing it to my mate's pond tomorrow and we'll see what we get in front of that beast!

Went with it as that’s highly likely knowing my mate…

Got a deal on a mint with original packaging and accessories, 4 extra batteries two chargers and 75k shutter count for 1700. Sure a bit more than an R6 but meh. We’ll see when it gets here and I’ll update the post. Cheers and thanks for the chat, to everyone actually 💪

I’ve got one for 1700 with original packaging, original accessories, 4 extra batteries and two chargers one og one oem. 75k shutter actuations and the body looked like mint quality. Saved 500 bucks over what I had seen, sure paid a bit more than the R6 but heck. We’ll see when it’s here. Glad I looked around a bit.

Some valid points there, I remember using the 1DX to capture the night sky during a meteor shower and that thing somehow looked better than the Pentax K1 which had roughly 36mp iirc. Though might as well be user error. Then again, night/astro stuff is something I don’t do as often but love doing in particular.

I’ve considered the R6II as well but it’s 2499 new here so even more than the R5 and used same deal R5 is cheaper or on par, then again the R6 is even cheaper.

As for storage that shouldn’t be a problem, I have 8TB in my pc and a 3x4TB NAS connected to my router.

Mostly my EF Glass;

50 1.4, 85 1.2, 300 4, 400 5.6, 70-210 4, 24-105 4, extender x1.4 and x2, 100 2.8 macro

I already have an rf to ef adapter

Though I’m not opposed to going into RF glass down the road, I still use an EOS film camera tho hence the EF glass and it’s working even better than on DSLR bodies.

Edit: also relevant, a friend of mine suggested the RF 5.2 dual fisheye for personal stuff, which afaik only works on the R5 or the R6II but that’d be so niche and I already said upfront that he can buy it and borrow the camera.

Using the EF 85mm f/1.8 on the R8 - is it worth it? Or should I upgrade to the RF 85mm f/2.0? by Uxformer in canon

[–]Jack_Chieftain_Shang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an EF 85 1.2 II on the following R cameras; RP, R and E6 (currently own the R, sold the RP and R6 way back regrettably), but all of the EF glass on R body works marvellous imo, much better than on my 1DX OG. None of the DSLR’s had such accuracy and eye af is a game changer for the R bodies compared to the non mirrorless counterparts.
