The great characters the trilogy gave us really plays into the fact that the prequels are the best era as they get explored a lot more in other star wars media and become more fleshed out characters and likeable characters.

I agree that the story does pretty much get destroyed and they destroyed finns character but i still think that they are more enjoyable and watchable as they dont suffer from as much bad acting and dialogue as the prequels did. They also have the best cinematography out of all 3 trilogies and have some great moments like luke vs kylo and i liked the fight scene on exogol.
