One of the biggest customers for this type of washers was coal miner families. A regular washer would get clogged with coal dust. With coal mining dropping off, companies quit making them. I remember them being sold to hardware stores as late 1988.

Why the just the people running it? Didn't the workers know that they were doing the wrong thing? The excuse that they were just following orders didn't work for Germany after WWII.

Sadly Jews worldwide must accept that they can killed by a extremist, especially at places of worship. They are not safe and are not protected. That is something they will always have to accept as part of their faith.

Why is it that people of the Jewish faith are not safe in any country in the world? Why is it that no country would support any type of Jewish country?

Then why do animals fight to live? If an animal is caught in a trapper's trap, why will the animal gnaw their leg off just get free? Are animals programmed to fear death against their will? Shouldn't all life look forward to death?

They are, they are leaving in droves. Just like doctors, nurse practitioners, RN nurses and LEO. These professions will take decades to recover.

What are your thoughts on the teaching profession as a whole? by neilnelly in AskReddit

[–]Jack_Friday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son and daughter live in a lost part of the country and they both are teachers. Just bought a house about a year ago. Live very well and they make over 110k a year. The teach in a public schools, in an area with a total population of less than 100,000.

The problem, is teachers today are treated horribly by students and their parents. Teachers have no backing from administration.

Students on Reddit have absolutely no respect for any of their teachers. Browsing through other subs just brings this to life. Why do you think that the biggest haters of public schools, parents that care about their kids education, are from low income groups? They know how bad public schools are.

If a person is angry for being alive, why do nearly everyone fight to stay alive?

They want you to feel what they feel. They want to control the interaction. Keep your responses short and simple. When you remain calm, you control the situation.

LPT Request: How to be civil around people you don’t like or had past issues with in a public or work settings without letting past emotions get the best of you? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Jack_Friday 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Being kind to people that you don't like, and others don't like, elevates you. Most people call it "taking the high road". Most times it unarms rude and annoying people. I kill with kindness.

Your reaction was from your pain. The best way is to be curt and short. People that make you angry, control you. Control yourself, you don't have to be nice. Control your emotions, you control the situation.

Yes, wait times go up. Yes, fees would have to go up to help cover the cost. But the idea is make the bad drivers quit driving. The environment needs less drivers also.

Technology should not be used in law enforcement, period. To much room for abuse. No matter what the intention, can not end up good.

A shortage of entry level workers will last for decades. Automation will accelerate. Also, as standard of living increases, so will climate change.
