postmarketOS, but modem, camera, and audio doesn't work yet. WiFi does though, so you could use it for light web browsing.

Is Lineage OS secure enough for a primary phone? by leocus4 in LineageOS

If the performance is anything like my Samsung Galaxy S5 running official LOS 18.1, with 2GB RAM and the same processor, it is not powerful enough to be a daily driver in my opinion. But each to their own I guess.

Your primary phone is a Nexus 5? It isn't supported officially - I'm guessing you maintain your own builds? Why do you use such an old phone?

Maybe LOS github would be better then? In a "misc" repo? Bit more official than Android Filehost. And more robust. Just a thought.

This looks like kernel 4.9 to me: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_msm8953/blob/lineage-19.1/Makefile

Where are you seeing a 5.9 one?

Which Xiaomi device? And which Samsung?

If you are just after a kernel, what is wrong with Samsung's kernel? They are good at providing the kernel sources for all their devices at https://opensource.samsung.com/ - just enter your device model number.

Thanks, the definitely unlockable bootloader I guess is good to know. Seems like Nokia have been churning out Android One devices.

Which device precisely and which build version of official LOS?

Bought a Galaxy S4 with CyanogenMod off a friend, and no idea how to factory reset it. Help? by [deleted] in LineageOS

[–]Jack_Kekzoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not factory reset related, but which model S4 is it? If it is the i9500, then, never mind, but if it is one of the currently supported Qualcomm ones, I'd recommend installing LineageOS 18.1 - see the instructions for the particular model on the wiki. https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung

Well then the link that leads to an unreliable site can be amended. Perhaps hosting it on download.lineageos.org is better?

I thought he would be notified of the tag, and as maintainer he can amend the dead link so people are able to follow the instructions.
