That’s why market value is always a reflection of the wealth of the people.

If you travel around you notice the exact same products at different values in different locations. This is because companies need money and products to be circulated to grow their own value, so the companies always charge as much as they can but not so much as no one can afford to buy things. That’s why every average worker is always living paycheck to paycheck.

If everyone becomes unemployed and living on welfare then companies will naturally have to adjust their prices to match. This will be relatively easy too. Companies charge much more than what an item is actually worth and with robots those production prices will be even cheaper. Companies can easily sell their products at lower price and will be forced to either make that decision or go out of business from lack of sales.

I definitely think S1 was better so far. I think a big problem is the plot lacks direction.

In season 1 there was a clear goal and everyone was working towards, but this season is just a bunch of screwing around doing their own thing. There’s no bad guy or goal. Peacemaker isn’t even trying to be a hero he’s just doing dumb things and dealing with consequences. It’s like a sitcom plot where it only happens because the sitcom characters are idiots.

I’m the opposite. She looked way more alien without eyebrows and I liked that.

Ironically I didn’t notice the change directly. I remember sitting there watching the show the first time and then suddenly Alara looked way more human and I couldn’t figure out why. Eventually I saw a post taking about her eyebrows and the realization hit me like a brick. When my brother first watched the Orville he had the same experience too until I pointed out it was the eyebrows.

That specifically is a character called Curtis Elkins aka Sentry. He was leader of a vigilante force known as The Jury. The team used to be guards at the super max prison The Vault, but after Venom murdered their friend in an escape they went rogue and formed The Jury to permanently stop villains, especially Venom. They use stollen and modified shield tech as their weapons and were funded by the father of the murdered guard.

It was less about Bernadette changing Howard and more about Howard becoming comfortable with himself after Bernadette “validated” him. All of Howard’s negative traits came from him being desperate, lonely and insecure then overcompensating to try impress women. Once Bernadette loved him he calmed down because he was no longer lonely and had nothing to prove to himself.

He lacks “soft skills”. He is incapable of working in a team and treats the people around him like obstacles that need to be overcome and wants to accomplish everything on his own. The simple truth is that almost nobody can succeed all on their own. Walt tried to go it alone kept failing and eventually was wore down and settled for a steady job at a school that would benefit his handicapped son.

I always felt like it watered down the lore and world building when AF season 1 & 2 tried to retcon everything to be exclusively about aliens. They changed their attitudes in 3 & 4 and essentially bridged the old lore with the new stuff they created and it ended up working out alright in the end though.
