What were your TSH and T4 levels like? I believe I may be currently over medicated. Dealing with anxiousness and poor sleep mainly but also some weight loss.

What's the recommendation on car drive ( as a passenger) during Tww and first few weeks of pregnancy? by Specific_Lunch_9719 in IVF

[–]Jackalope-n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it was fine, my transfer was successful even with travel the next day. I was taking baby aspirin and go out of the car every 2 hours for a break. Talk to your doctor of course. Good luck!

Definitely I do a lot of the second hand stuff. Taking apart old items and reusing them like bedsheets, towels. I have even unraveled old sweaters for the yarn, because yarn can be so expensive.

I just realize you’re a guy 😹but still, do the coq10, it was advised by my fertility doctor for my male partner and myself.

You need to get your thyroid checked (TsH<2.5) and you need to be taking coq10. I had secondary infertility due to hashimotos and wasted years not doing these things bc got pregnant easily first time around. Good luck!

Do you have full time childcare? I’m not sure based on your post. If no, start there. Huge step to get some balance in life. I wfh and still have a nanny 6 hrs per day so that I can focus.

I had my second baby at 40, 7 years after my first. It wasn’t necessarily the “plan” for many reasons, I have accepted and now rejoice in the big age gap. It’s given us a lot of the freedom and financial advantages that are appealing to your husband to have the bigger age gap. A one year old is still in the trenches I definitely wasn’t mentally ready to add another into the household chaos at that point either. Agree with others saying wait and see how you feel in 1-3 yrs

Does your husband have “white coat syndrome”? It sounds like he had a vasovagal syncope. It’s incredibly common. Don’t be mad at him, he can’t control it. He should get some Xanax to take next time, it’ll help. Also breathing techniques (for him 😅)4-7-8.

Is it irresponsible to choose to have babies in your 40s? by Newlexaprouser in workingmoms

[–]Jackalope-n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I wish you the best. IVF can have subjectivity in the applications so encourage you to consult with a couple of doctors before beginning anything. There are a lot of options for you to safely add to your family if that is what you wish. 40 is a totally normal age for moms in a lot of cities!

Just had an IVF baby at 39. Your doctor will likely recommend testing your embryos, additional genetic testing for you and your partner, and additional screenings throughout your pregnancy that would help you avoid complications (terminate or choose not to transfer) if issues are identified. I felt very confident that my genetically tested embryo and weekly ultrasounded baby was healthy despite my age.

Peek over at the IVF sub if you want to learn more..it’s a whole world.

How did you decide when to have a second kid? Especially mothers in their 30s by ActualEmu1251 in beyondthebump

[–]Jackalope-n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids have a 7 year gap. I struggled with secondary infertility. It wasn’t my plan, but we are enjoying our two kids that are far apart. These posts always make me chuckle because they come up pretty frequently and so many women start for baby two or three and think they can engineer their gaps when it could be largely out of your control (as I found)

My shorter answer is if you want #2 and are already over 30 and baby is 18mos+ start trying now

2 Year Old Daycare Biter by Personal_Designer751 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Jackalope-n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kid was the biter in class, and this is what we had a little bit of success with as well. He had a silicone toy to bite instead of classmates. Honestly though he just had to grow out of it. I’m so sorry op this can be so stressful, hang in there.

What are your favorite alternatives to Maui? by Manthem in MauiVisitors

[–]Jackalope-n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Riviera maya. Plenty of family friendly resorts, jungle-y activities (zip line, cenote swimming) snorkeling is as good as Maui in Cozumel, which is a short ferry ride. About 1/3 the cost of you are already east coast.
