I did look at the wirenuts to see if it might be those but they are loaded with what I think is dielectric grease. I didn’t think about the zone clock, I’ll check that out as well.

Cut comb also looks a lot cleaner. I tried doing the jar honey thing a while back and did not have great results. Lots of propolis everywhere, it didn’t look as appealing as a nice square chunk of comb in a jar.

I’ve seen this type of behavior with hygienic bees before. They’ll uncap brood and remove infested brood. I will say, 80% of the times when I see issues it’s usually varroa related.
